About

I am interested in the study of leadership and psychology; sports provides an easy medium to study those topics in a risk-free manner. I am open to any and all discussion revolving around leadership and it is an area which one can never master and must forever be a student.

How players motivate themselves, their teammates, and how they shape their own expectations is an exciting area of study. I was in the military for six years and am taking what I learned about leadership and applying it to sports, both professional and amateur.

My favorite books include The Black Swan, Dune, Wages of Win.

Daniel Suhr, no offense but your article above seems like you don't like shaq personally..Shaq may not be the dominant center as he was once..but he is still a good center, he can defend, rebound, score (with high percentage around the basket), ..plus can he go to Atlanta or Spurs and see his chance in wining it all?...or dallas for that matter..I believe he can....If Erick Dampier can play, Shaq can definitley play and be effective... If you say his numbers are decreased..ok..plus remember last year he was injured for a very long time..So please consider all the thing around him before you just decide to attack him... In general the above article does not make sense at all

U were right that the Cavs will not win the Championship this year. Congratulations. I appreciate the fact that you came back and told your naysayers that you told them so. Really appreciate your passion. Still do not agree with your logic but you were right. So you have bragging rights. But seriously, The Magic did not play their best basketball till they met the Cavs and The Lakers obviously have a much better TEAM compared to anybody. I still root for the Cavs but only because of Lebron James and will always say that while Kobe Bryant is the best player on the planet, Lebron James is the most gifted (physically & mentally) player in History and a close 2nd in the best player race. Nothing you say can change that.

But I will appreciate it if you try :-D

I just spent 15 of the best minutes of my life reading the comments on your "Proof the Cavs Won't Win the Championship" article.

It's weird how none of the people who said they were going to bookmark the page and come back when the Cavs win haven't said anything yet.

    Daniel-
I just finished a top ten list from the 65 series played in MLB, NHL, and NBA this decade that actually went the full seven games. I wanted to place the Bulls/Celtics first round series in a historical context. Please check it out if you have a chance. Thanks

I wrote an article proving Big Ben is in fact an elite QB. I would love for you to read it and give me your input.

I didn't really feel like Don Nelson told the players not to try or anything last year. If anything, I usually find it the opposite. Nellie rides his best players almost all the time trying to get wins. It's only been until recently that he's really accepted that the team is going to lose certain games no matter what. While I don't think Nellie purposefully gave up games last year, he's usually very blunt and occasionally negative about the teams he coaches. I think it's mostly trying to psychologically encourage players, by telling the media how bad they are or how little chance they have of winning.
