Stamati's Bio

Hi,

I came onto Bleacher Report about a year ago and to my surprise I rediscovered my passion for writing...especially about baseball. I started writing about everything I could think of and realized then that this is what I was meant to do.

I haven't been on here lately because I have been working with a company called BaseballInformant.com to deliver a new magazine in the Bay Area called Extra Bases. It features the SF Giants, the minor league system, and the community.

I must say that starting a new magazine has been really, really difficult but also very rewarding. I have spent countless hours writing articles, finding writers, selling subscriptions, and talking with advertisers and the experience has been unbelievably educational. It's been tons of fun too.

I spent two weeks covering the SF Giants in Arizona during Spring Training and currently have press passes to the San Jose Giants where I have interviewed Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner, Tim Alderson, etc.

If you could, please come check us out at www.baseballinformant.com and let me know what you think.

The Short List What Stamati thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

I love Allen Iverson from his Sixer's days and Matt Barnes from his time in Oakland but I would have to say Don Mattingly is my favorite player of all time.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

    SF Giants

  • All Time Sports Moment

When Bo Jackson ran up the wall after catching that fly ball in KC.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Eagles vs Giants - Dec '01. It was freezing that night and I bought fake tickets from a scalper for $75 each. They were so good though that they got us in the door anyway. The only thing was that our seats didn't exist so we stole two random seats in the lower level on the 50 Yard Line.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

I would say Wayne Gretzky's goals in a season but with the new rules it seems more likely to happen.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Babeeee Ruth

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Montana to Rice...Classic.

  • Jordan or Russell?

    I wanna be like Mike

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    The Great One

  • Pele or Maradona?

You mean, bicycle kick or hand ball??? I'll go with the bicycle.

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Greek Style

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Nobody's better than Tiger

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

  2. Thought I would give The Relay for Life one more push before our big event Saturday. This one is a more in-depth look into the story of Dave Dravecky. Also posted a link for the Josiah Herring Funeral Fund!

  4. Hey Stamati—Jeff here, a Bleacher Report Community Coordinator.

I've been spending time on our MLB page and read a couple of your old articles. Really on-point analysis...you do good work.

Given that you haven't written in a while, I thought I'd check in and see if you're interested in picking up your coverage again. What do you say?

If not, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on why you decided to stop writing and what we could have done to better serve you. If you wouldn't mind, please shoot me a line at jeff@bleacherreport.com with any thoughts.

    Thanks so much,

    Jeff

  6. please check out www.bleedeaglesgreen.com

    thanks in advance!

  7. Oh ya, anytime. We are so similar (sorta) with our favorite sports teams! I'm a Bay Area fan who loves Bay Area sports, but the Phillies are one of my favorites.

    Thanks for the kind words!

  8. Thanks for the feedback, I agree too. I credit him for keeping at it.

  9. Thanks man, glad you like the site. Yes, I did in fact meet Ted Danson—twice in fact. Once while getting a burger at In-n-Out, and another time while interviewing for a job at a talent agency. And I'll tell you, his hair is just as silver and regal as it looks on TV.
