About Ira »

I'm a thirtysomething New Jersey based father of three, and I became a sports fan by the magic of statistics. Dwight Gooden's magical 1984 rookie season was my initiation into rabid Mets fandom. I'm still mad Sutcliffe won the NL Cy Young that year, because the voters obviously didn't realize he pitched (poorly) for the other league to start the season.

This love of statistics and data have also followed me into my career as a data analyst and system architect, using software to identify patterns in corporate information and present them to those who can make business decisions.

I hope to highlight hidden statistics in my articles and give a bit of a historical perspective on what's happening in the present-day.

You can also follow me at http://twitter.com/dances_w_vowels. Thanks for reading!

Hey,

The biggest week of games to date this season begins for the Mets with Six games against the Phillies and the Yankees, its a real test for a team that has dealt with quite a bit during this early part of the season. With this I'm presenting another version of my Top Five with the subject centering around how the Mets can be successful this week against the Phils and Yanks. I hope you enjoy and thanks in advance.

Its time to finally come clean, Im not a Yankee fan, I only play one on TV and in reality Im a Die Hard Mets fan who is very frustrated with everything surrounding this franchise right now. Then again, its ok cause they're BATTLING every night, right? Wrong and below is my article on the reasons why. Thanks in advance.
