No, Larry Richards is not a pseudonym for Bernie Williams. I just thought that I'd put Bernie's photo up there because he has been my favorite Yankee since the mid 90's and represents the kind of player the Yankees used to have and the kind that I admire.
I'll fill more in later.
Hey Larry! I've been a baseball fan longer than you! Ilene
Hey Pete!
Thank you for sharing this article with me.
While what happened to your friend is a tragedy, the way you wrote it - and wrote it very well by the way - does, indeed, leave the reader with more of a feeling of celebration of the spirit of Life and quality and importance of character, than sadness.
Character is a quality that seems to be often overlooked in people but especially of those who are in the spotlight, specifically professional athletes. Additionally, it doesn't seem to me that it is a quality that is often encouraged or expected by teams. However, there are exceptions such as the Minnesota Twins who actively look to help build and hone positive character traits in their players at all levels. That is one element that I hope to be able to focus on once I get my show up and running - to remind people, specifically fans, that character does still exist and how important it is for teams to do just that - especially these days.
I thank you for reminding about that.
