Andrew's Bio

I'm an Assistant Dean of Admissions in my mid-20s at a top liberal arts institution in upstate New York by day, and an avid sports junkie by night.

Growing up with a passion for all things Boston, Syracuse, and anything having to do with soccer, I have developed quite the unhealthy obsession with sports near and far.

I have benefitted from being immersed in some of the greatest sports rivalries from a young age(Celtics-Lakers, Red Sox-Yankees, Orange-Hoyas, to name a few). Although -admittedly- completely biased towards my teams, I have gained a great respect for such rivalries and the importance of their existence in all sports. It is through this understanding that I've gained a passion to share my experiences and views with all of you.

Whether you agree or disagree, I hope you enjoy my personal views on the issues and sporting events that I highlight.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to add your two cents!

  1. how would you consider an article comparing cp3 and deron williams a "played out" topic? just wondering if you had any advice that i could take for the future and perhaps avoid "played out" topics.

    thanks in advance

  2. andrew,

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/21547-Chris-Paul-Vs-Deron-Williams-Best-PG-In-The-NBA--060508

I thought you might like the article I did comparing 2 of the best point guards in the NBA, Deron and Cp3. Let me know what you think or any suggestions, thanks

  3. Hey Andrew,

    The Carmelo-Lebron article is done.

    Check it out

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/20883-Who-s-Better-Carmelo-or-Lebron

Vote for it as Pick Of The Day. You won't be sorry, don't forget vote.

  4. Andrew,
No problem. I'm a writer for hockeybuzz.com, and I felt like I needed to distinguish myself from the other two Sharks writers. So, I said "Why not?" and posted the blog. I figured I'd either be laughed at or loved for it, thankfully I got the loved for it response. Hopefully I can win you over as a Sharks fan! Thanks for the add though, it was appreciated, and I'm glad you enjoyed the article!
    Go Sharks!!!!
    -Danielle

  5. Andrew,

You are a maniac, man! You are officially a BR Superstar. Keep up the great work...

  6. Thanks for the pick, man. I like how you called the Celtics firstround matchup a bye. I predict 4 easy W's by 20 points a game.

  7. Thanks for the pick, Andrew.

  8. Not a problem Andrew, well deserved. Keep the good stuff coming and I look forward to the next one. :)

  9. I will definitely check it out Andy, or Drew or whichever it is today :-) I told Kate I am still deciding on the whole blog issue. It was fun hanging out with you at SB. We will all have to get together again someday. Maybe for the Celtics upcoming big win!

  10. I'll be sure to check it out bro, as far as our teams go they will be fine, Baltimore usually starts out like this and then starts to suck once May comes around

  11. That China Olypics article was great. It's always interesting when sports draw in other aspects of our lives and make us reconsider why we value sports so much in the first place.
As for Celtics articles, I would love to collaborate. I've had a few ideas brewing about a piece on the Celtics playoffs prospects to talk about how they will fare, especially as they go deeper and deeper (hopefully). In the meantime before the playoffs, did you have any good ideas for a collaboration piece?

  12. Andrew, thanks for the note! I completely agree with what you said in it, and I also think it is a great idea! You have written some very good pieces and I hope to read some more great articles from you soon!

  13. Good stuff--it should spark a good discussion.

I've always enjoyed reading your stuff, too–keep it up!

  14. I'm on it Andrew—just takes awhile to get around to deleting 280 comments!!!

    Thanks for the heads up,
    Zander

  15. Still Bleeding Black as ever
