I am not too worried, even with this formation we can win,if Neuer ,Martinez,Dante,Schewinstiger and Ribery are back. Take out the own goal and the howler by Starke its 2-2 then. The pressing seemed fine just a bit rusty. If we had Schewinstiger in the center it would be a bit better, I think Pep should have stuck to his instincts like vs Barca and allowed Kroos in the holding midfielder role than Thiago. Kroos would have done a better job, and I am not really impressed with Mueller trying too hard with those cute backheels and overhit passes, he should play to his strengths and poach and create space for others. Robben was superb today, I know you don't like him but mark my words if he plays like this he will be hard to displace, both goals were absolute class especially the second one. Timed to perfection. When you lose you always start missing Ribery! :D I think Pep will correct these mistakes,it was played in Signal Iduna and we haven't done well there for a while now, perhaps we should target the win in November. I hope though everyone is fit by the UEFA super Cup. Can't deal with plastic Chelsea fans and I want a thrashing!

Van Buyten, one of the modern mysteries as to how he survived and is still playing in Bayern LOL! Single handedly changed the course of the match, with some fine assists from Starke!

I had discussed this with many friends both Bayern and Barca fans that Rooney would be an excellent addition. This was even before Goetze transfer! The lad wasted his talent,he could have easily equalled Ronaldo or Messi. He presses well and plays for the team, unfortunately he is losing track and needs a good coach to get his focus back. His wage demands might have created problems plus he wants guaranteed starts which will not suit our rotational policy.Plus his agility has gone down unfortunately, something forget Pep even Heynckes wouldn't have tolerated which is one of the reasons Mario Gomez got the axe.

I hope Guardiola just guards against complacency, I know his obsession with football and like someone said "he is a very German catalan" with his obsession for perfection . However at the end of the day he is not touching the ball players are. I think bringing in a few hungry players will help us in the long run, that is where Barca stagnated post 2011 and Inter post 2010, thinking oh we are the best. At Bayern we have come close many times and missed, now is the time to make amends. I think Lewandowski will be more disillusioned as the season progresses and if Dortmund lose their way mid season he will come in Jan itself.

Shaqiri can play on the right and the center. Mueller will be a CF this season no doubt. But the best thing I noticed about our play which Heynckes was trying to do is we don't have fixed positions anymore it is truly total football. Like Hermann Gerland said "At this age I don't expect to learn anything new about football, however Pep Guardiola completely changed my mind and opened a new world" . Ribery was defending in the center and Lahm playing in central midfield. Like Schewini used to Thiago covered the right. Shaqiri played everywhere and was superb .Mandzukic dropped back as far as the central midfield. The goals are there on goalsarena.org or if you have fcb.tv subscription, check the second goal especially orgasmic pass by Thiago to Ribery leading to the goal. He delivered another superb one which Pizza fluffed horribly. I the future I can see Shaqiri getting time along with Goetze, what worries me is Lewandowski transfer will upset things unless we do sell Mandzukic which I don't want. Right now he is still the best finisher there along with Mueller. Ribery missed easy goals too today and Goetze isn't that good.We will need strikers or else all the hard work of Thiago,Kroos,Schewinstiger will be wasted.

I was a bit surprised as to how seamless Thiago fit into Bayern :O It seemed as if he knew every players strengths and played accordingly! I didn't think he was this talented!! Like Heynckes I wanted Isco at Bayern, but this kid is great too. Bit pissed at the Lewandowski /Goetze scenario. It seems had we not bought Goetze Dortmund would have allowed Lewandowski to come.Whats the point of Goetze? Kroos and Thiago are great themselves Lewandowski is one of the best finishers around. Perhaps we should have waited and got Lewandowski, would have been cheaper too.
