John is a junior broadcast journalism major at the University of Maryland. He aspires to cover sports for a living as a broadcaster or writer. John is a die-hard Mets fan and also roots for Maryland Terrapins basketball and the Jets. He grew up in Wayne, New Jersey and graduated from Wayne Hills High School in 2011, where he played baseball and announced football and basketball games on the town's public access television network, earning three MSG Varsity "V Awards" for his efforts.
At Maryland, John now does play-by-play for Terrapins men's and women's socccer, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and baseball. He also writes for his own blog, http://acrossthejohn.blogspot.com/
John served as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Jersey Pilots of the ACBL and the Gaithersburg Giants of the CRCBL, MLB prospect teams in NJ and MD respectively. He's called over 200 games in his lifetime and has written articles for league websites, WMUC Radio online, and Bleacher Report.
