Hey I read your comment, and I live in Santa Cruz. I've followed the Warriors off and on and was wondering what you thought about the theory that Don Nelson mailed in some games?
Specifically, I read an interview after they lost at Detroit (I think it was last year) where Nellie basically says something like "we knew we weren't going to beat them when we came up here. They are a good team, play hard, and are just better than us" or something like that. He rested the starters the whole fourth quarter and of course we got demolished.
A major area of interest for me is figuring out when teams mail in games and don't try. I believe the Warriors (especially when they had Baron Davis) did it a few times a season. mainly when they felt they were outmatched.
