My love for sports has been a lifelong affair, especially baseball and football. Growing up in the South, football is more of a religion than anything. Entire weekends in the fall are dedicated to the game of football. As an All-State offensive tackle at Valdosta High School, I lived for Friday nights. Saturdays were either spent watching college teams that I wanted to play for, or visiting colleges that were recruiting me to their school. But, baseball has always been my first love, especially the Atlanta Braves. Growing up watching the Braves struggle through the 80's only to dominate in the 90's was memorable. I can still remember Braves fever in Georgia when Atlanta went from worst to first, and then finally seeing them capture the crown firsthand in the 1995 World Series.
I didn't develop an affinity for writing until I entered college. Writing research papers was daunting until I learned I was good at it and actually didn't mind writing about a wide range of topics. Now, I want to write about my sports interests and Bleacher Report is kind enough to give aspiring writers like me a chance to showcase our talents. I look forward to bringing you my perspective and interacting with sports fans from all over the globe.
