Hotnuke's Bio

I'm a 44-year-old freelance writer and artist living and working in Burlington, Vermont, where I recently moved to from the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple.

I was born in Hollywood, Florida, and raised in California until joining the Navy. I've played football, basketball, and baseball with some success in high school, and am a huge fan of those sports.

I'm also a fan, to a greater or lesser degree, of many other sports, such as hockey, soccer, golf, boxing, racing, etc. To me, sports is one of the greatest pastimes man has ever come up with, combining the strategy and thinking of warfare with physical acheivement and comraderie.

Although I grew up a fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons, and Oakland Athletics, since Miami has gained franchises in those sports I've switched my allegiences to those respective teams; the Florida Panthers, Miami heat, and Florida Marlins. I've also been a fan of the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes since I was a three-year-old.

Hopefully the articles I write here on B/R will entertain my readers, and spark discussion among them. I don't intend them to offend, even if at times they might because I touch on some controversial subjects. I can only hope those who are offended by anything I write will have the courtesy to comment on it politely and not spark flame wars.

Here's looking forward to a great upcoming season to many sports, and the winding down of others. I'm looking forward to reading all the great stuff written here at B/R.
