Pat Fitzgerald: A Better Fit at Northwestern than at a Big Time Program
11/20/2009
Hi, I'm Joe. I'm 26 years old and currently looking for a job related to the field of sports. For now I guess I'll settle for writing for Bleacher Report and my continued fandom of my various teams.
I'm a die-hard fan of Northwestern sports and the Chicago White Sox. I'm a member of N.U.T.S (Northwestern University Tailgating Society) and a White Sox season ticket holder. I seem to have a habit of missing the biggest moments for those teams as I have attended four Northwestern bowl games, excluding the Rose Bowl, and we became season ticket holders a little too late to get playoff tickets for the 2005 White Sox.
I'm also an avid follower of college basketball, as far as I'm concerned March Madness is the greatest event ever created. I also follow the Bulls, though their post-Jordan stretch is starting to try my patience. However, I thoroughly enjoy NBA basketball when I'm not attending or watching games involving my other teams.
I've also been a crazed fantasy sports participant for about ten years. Though I've soured significantly on fantasy football due to its swings in production from year to year and the crippling effect of injuries, I'm an avid participant in fantasy baseball, fantasy basketball and even fantasy hockey the last few years. Baseball is by far my most successful sport.
I'm mostly going to be writing about the White Sox since I was recently selected as a featured columnist for them, but I will also sporadically add opinion pieces on other sports when I feel inspired.
Hey Joe,
I'd really appreciate if you could check this out.

It's a unique article about Manhattan's Devon Austin who is adjusting to his first year of pro ball in Europe and I think it speaks a lot about what these guys need to go through in order to achieve their goal of playing for a living.
Take care,
Ari

I've spent the past several weeks adding to a piece dedicated to one of the father's of college football, Knute Rocke. In time for his dedication tomorrow at Notre Dame Stadium, I present to you the true and inspiring story of the most renown coach in the game:
Don't be shy, and as always, feedback is appreciated.

Former MLB player Eric Karros called my article into question on Colin Cowherd's ESPN Radio show yesterday.
He challenged me for a re-do: but here's my response.
I assure you, it's not just a ridiculous personal attack, but it shows that Karros was off-base with his statements.

DeleteHey Joe,
I'm writing articles on the MLB 9s and thought you'd be interested in the Chicago White Sox piece I wrote.
