I grew up in the state of Alabama where following the sport of football was a religion, after Baptist or Methodist. So I chose to wander from that norm and follow the sport of tennis and I am a lifelong Lutheran -- go figure! I like football and learned to appreciate the sport, but tennis is a passion.
I have taken time off from work to attend tennis matches. I grew up in Birmingham where we used to have a Challenger event and I helped behind the scenes -- selling beer, collecting tickets, interacting with other tennis fans. I was doing something I enjoyed doing and it was for free! Bliss!!! Anyway, I have followed the great sport of tennis for more than twenty years and love it. My favorite players currently are Venus Williams, Serena Williams for the ladies and Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on the men's side. Of course I'm torn whenever Roger and Rafa play, but when the chips are down I pull for Roger everytime they play.
