Bryan's Bio

Follow me on TWITTER: bgoldberg

I'm Bryan — I'm one of the guys who started Bleacher Report here in San Francisco.

I jumpstarted the site along with the two Dave's and Zander, and have been very impressed with how many amazing contributors have come on board ever since.

My teams are the Sharks, A's, and Niners. It's very rare for somebody in the Bay Area to like one Oakland team and one San Francisco team, but people need to remember that the Raiders weren't in Oakland when I was young.

Because I went to a small college in Vermont, I sort of get to pick which NCAA teams I cheer for. To that end, I've chosen Alabama and Notre Dame, but just like 94% of Americans, I only cheer for the Irish when they are playing well. This makes me the "first amongst bandwagoners".

Oh, I've also started taking Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so expect me to start being an MMA junky in no time.

Bryan Writes About

The Short List What Bryan thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Sports Teams

    Sharks, Niners, A's.

  • All Time Sports Moment

I don't really like Boston. I don't really like the Red Sox. I don't really like Boston Red Sox fans. But I have to give credit where it's due, and those guys are amazingly loyal (and knowledgable) baseball fanatics. My hat went off to them when they won each of their last two championships.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

I attended the 2002 World Cup match between England and Brazil, the latter of whom went on to win the tournament. In my opinion, that particular World Cup team was the greatest of the last thirty years. Seeing Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, two of the five best soccer players of my lifetime, lined up next to eachother in their primes... nothing like it. Was also great to see Beckham play in the biggest match of his career.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Nobody will ever break the Oakland Athletics' 20-game win streak. They did not win the World Series that year, unfortunately, but they did set a mark that will outlive us all.

  5. Bryan,
Thanks for you insight. I just wanted to throw the whole cheerleader thing out there so that other realize that there is a place for all of it, without being too tacky. How else would I have promoted "Save the TaTa's article...I'll send the link next!
btw my brother spells his name the same way, or shall I say my mom and dad spelled my brother's name the same way.
As for plans for another article...the Tail of 2 teams...comparing NFL players work/practice/pay to the cheerleaders...I do plan on using a butt shot for sure!

  6. Hi Bryan, how's it going?

  8. Just out of curiosity was there a reason I was ripped off the top fifty pro football list and went from number five to the void on the humor rankings...was a site sky god offended by something?

Not that it matters, just a hobby, but I feel like John Garfield being black listed....
