Bryan's Bio

Bryan is part of the team here at Bleacher Report. And he loves it here.

He helped start the site along with the two Dave's and Zander, and has been very impressed with how many amazing contributors have come on board ever since.

Unlike the other guys, Bryan focuses more on the technology and product side, so he may not be involved in as many comment-stream debates. But he will be the guy answering any technical support issues, which is just as cool!

Little known facts about Bryan are that he can speak some Japanese, which he put to good use during Ichiro's first ever road trip (the future superstar acknowledged the very loud and well-pronounced greeting); he also can say all the U.S. Presidents in order, and he came up with the name Bleacher Report while staring at the seat in front of him on a boring, boring train ride.

The Short List facts and information about Bryan Goldberg

Favorite Sports Teams

Sharks, Niners, A's.

All Time Sports Moment

I don't really like Boston. I don't really like the Red Sox. I don't really like Boston Red Sox fans. But I have to give credit where it's due, and those guys are amazingly loyal (and knowledgable) baseball fanatics. My hat went off to them when they won each of their last two championships.

Most Memorable Game Attended

I attended the 2002 World Cup match between England and Brazil, the latter of whom went on to win the tournament. In my opinion, that particular World Cup team was the greatest of the last thirty years. Seeing Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, two of the five best soccer players of my lifetime, lined up next to eachother in their primes... nothing like it. Was also great to see Beckham play in the biggest match of his career.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Nobody will ever break the Oakland Athletics' 20-game win streak. They did not win the World Series that year, unfortunately, but they did set a mark that will outlive us all.

  1. Hi Bryan,

Dunno if I should ping you or Ryan on this, just something of note when you guys do the next major bug fix, it is a minor bug that is more of a cosmetic nature.

Even when a female takes the POTD vote, this is what displays: "Saraswathi Sirigina selected Every Sport Can Be Fun! An Experimenter's View as his pick of the day" - just a cosmetic bug not a major bug or defect. Righto!

    Thanks,
    Sarah

  2. hey bryan, any way you could speed up the way articles are front paged on their relevant section. I'm reporting for BR at silverstone for the F1, but only one article has made it to the front page.

  3. Yeah more organization on league and team pages would be great. During the day a lot of the articles you see are editorials and then when the team plays the next 8 hours the page is dedicated to recaps. It would be nice to see those separated so you get a variety of articles on a page at all times.

So yeah, I'm definitely for separating the different kinds of articles on a league page.

  4. I suck. I could have given you a heads up weeks ago. I had the FF3 beta and it had the same problem. So instead of saying anything, I stopped using it and switched back to 2. :)

    Thanks,
    Sean

  5. Hi Bryan,
Just a quick FYI. The article submission form doesn't work right with the new FireFox. Everything is OK except for the picture. It doesn't allow you to format the picture correctly.

No big deal, just thought I'd bring it to your attention just in case you didn't know already.

    Keep up the great work!

    Thanks,
    Sean

  6. Hi Bryan, sorry to bug you, but I have two technical questions.

The first (of which I just told Greg Adams that it wasn't a big deal and I didn't want to bother you with it, so of course here I am), is that I noticed in my "play by play" yesterday that I had three comments on an article I wrote, (Kimbo Slice...) but when I went to look them up they were gone and the number of comments listed matched the comments on the board. Is that normal?

Second, for some reason, I am unable to download any pictures onto my articles. I've tried four different computers at home and work, but no luck. Am I just and idiot? Or am an idiot AND there's a technical problem?

Again, sorry to be a pest. I'd be grateful for any insight.
    Thanks--JC

  7. Thanks a lot Bryan, everything's good now.

  8. Hey Bryan, I'm trying to publish an article on the Mets but every time I try to save, my computer goes to the top of the page and I see a red box around my headline, it says that I have yet to write a headline but I clearly have. Any idea on what I should do?

  9. Hey, man, thanks for the pick! I am actually surprised--it's not that it isn't a good article, but I did not feel it was my best work...you know there are times when you think "this one's gonna get picked" and this was not one of those times. I am happy to be wrong!

  10. Thanks for the info about the "fake" hits. You do a great job on the technical aspect of the site, by the way.

I noticed that you can name all the U.S. Presidents in order. Our current President doesn't even know the last three!

  11. Bryan - Thanks for reading my article and I really appreciate the pick of the day vote.

  12. Thanks for the pick of the day vote! I really appreciate it and it's good to feel encouraged when people like my stuff, I need that!

  13. Bryan, it looks like you accidentally made me one of your favorite writers. (Which is sort of embarrassing, since you're supposed to be the technical guru around here and all... Oh well, don't worry. I won't tell anyone!)

    *thanks!* ;)

  14. hey bryan, thanks for the pick mate. much appreciated.

  15. Blazer!
