John Brown commented on Five Things on Real Madrid's Wish List:
Every club MOU left thus far has had a couple of years of problems and rebuilding to occur and not wining trophies. Will RM be in...
I love sports, especially Cricket, Football, Rugby Union and AFL (Australian Football League).
I am a member of FC Barcelona. I love the majestic style they play and have been to the Camp Nue many times to watch my Barca play and win.
I follow Australia when they play cricket and support my local Rugby union Brumbies team from Canberra Australia.
I am an IT specialist. And enjoy doing all kind of statistics with sports especially on teams playing against Barca to calculate the probability of a positive result for my beloved Barca . I have most of the Barca games since 1990 stored in my server.
**started**
i stated to read your last message, then saw your violence bit and stopped, just not in the mood
sorry,i did not get a chance to read the links you sent.
to me the difference between ronaldo and messi is that messi is so much more important to barca because he does everything.
he is their goal scoring leader and their assist leader.
ronaldo scores most of madrid goals, but the assists is shared around by so many.
ozil,di maria, benzema, higuain all have more than 5 assists i`m sure.
now i`m not saying ronaldo is not important to madrid but as we know, under mourinho, madrid has no style of play, you told me that.
so a benzema and higuain front pair could work, pellergrini showed that.
if madrid went defensive, they stood a better chance against dortmund, just to take the sting out of their attack.....football in the knockout rounds is about reading the game and thinking of the next game.
i can assure you, even if i watched the game live,i would have said the same thing, get an extra body in deep midfield.
that`s why i have huge respect for del bosque,he uses his squad, check back the team that went to bayern and scored 1st then locked up shop.
geremi scored and started, when so many was suprised to see him even in the starting lineup.
in a knockout competition, style does not matter,it`s getting results.
we played dortmund two times before and struggled against reus and lewandoski, same thing was happening during the 1st leg and yet no change to rectify that?
to hear mou say after we studied lewandoski and knew all about him,yet he still finds room to score 4,just shows how overrated he is as a manager.
the only game madrid beat dortmund in is the one pepe did not start in central defense.make of it what you will, but i know it`s because lewandoski was not allowed all that room that pepe allowed him.
i did not realize that you are a villa fan,to point out the games he started is very unfair,in terms of him not scoring.......in the games he and messi started together is what you should have mentioned.
the milan game, and barca scored 4.
the 1st leg in psg, messi left early but barca scored two, which was enough to see them through.
where was the partnership that combined for the all important goal in the 2nd leg against psg when they went to bayern?
messi is a playmaker, hence you pointing out him taking xavi`s spot.
barca has enough players to score, but messi wants to do it all,so villa is being forced out.
so your answer is bring in an argentine, maybe messi might lighten up his stronghold on the team i guess is your opinion.
i did say my view already, bayern are favourites and dortmund will need gotze fit to win....him being fit will be a huge boost mentally for the players and that could see them lift the cup.
if mourinho was a manager worth his hype,he would not have allowed dortmund to be so dominant in the 2nd half.....it was clear lewandoski and reus was having great joy in the 1st half, having seen that, mourinho should have sent on albiol for higuain and let pepe be a deep defensive midfielder to try and shield the center backs at halftime.
the scores were level at one.
i`m not just saying that after the fact, but watching the game, the 1st half i mean and knowing barca were destroyed 4-0 the day before, close up shop then try to snatch it late.
that is what you do in knockout football if you want to win the tie.
we all know mourinho has lost the dressing room, you told me this before, the rumors were all over and as they say, when there is smoke there is fire......i just felt in a knockout competition, the team does not need be that unified as they will have to be to win a league, the manager just needed to be tactically great and hope luck was on his side.
the luck was on our side, but mourinho was not even good enough tactically.
imagine alonso and ramos were not playing in gala because of their bookings, maybe intentional or not,who knows, but if essien is your prefered right back and also one booking away from suspension and missing the semi, why play him in gala when we already leading 3-0 after the 1st leg?
mourinho did not give madrid their best chance to win this season.
just like messi has been holding barca back because of his feud with david villa, mourinho has done the same with his war with casillas.....the bigger ego complex has damaged both clubs.
i did watch most or atleast some of the dortmund vs bayern game.
i`m not saying changes cant be made or should not be made...tell me have you seen barca play with a double pivot?
a simple change in ideas could do for now.
you cant tell me that madrid and barca, clubs who i believe have the the top squads in europe, with bayern next to them ofcourse, need 4 and 5 players to win a knockout competiton.
the amount of changes you are suggesting sounds more like fantasy than dealing with reality.....the truth is the way the spanish economy is,barca and madrid cant justify spending over 60mil without selling players for profit and not losses.
bayern has the money and could spend 45mil on javi martinez, 5mil dante and 12 mil shaqiri in one offseason, then announce gotze is coming for 40mil.....that`s over 100mil and still bayern`s books are said to be balanced.
the amount of changes you are speaking of,these clubs cant do that now......i said bayern is favs,i never said dortmund had no chance.
bayern is favourites, dortmund will need gotze fit,if only for just on the bench to begin the match.
barca spent all that money on sanchez and cesc and would just get rid of them....makes no sense.
barca needs a center back, masherano and song could play alongside busquets in midfield and a change in the set up is needed.
barca has 50mil each season to make transfers.
maybe a bid for thiago silva might be in order.
kaka should only leave if madrid we will be getting bale.
casillas is captain.
pepe will leave.....central defense and be a defensive midfielder.
there is no reason for higuain and/or benzema should want to leave, they are two men fighting for one spot.....which team only has two forwards?
alonso will leave for liverpool when his contract is done, which might mean when liverpool make champions league.....then he will go back to sociedad after two years at liverpool and help them make champions league.
to me it looks like madrid will make two signings, bale and carvahal.
madrid needed two away goals i felt before a ball was kicked, remember.
when i saw yesterday`s lineup,i was happy mourinho dropped khedira and pepe as both were poor in the 1st leg,was a little disappointed higuian started though, his record in the champions league is so poor when compared to benzema,i could not believe he started again, more importantly after his poor 1st leg display.
after the ozil miss,i knew we would not make it as i got the feeling this was lyon under pellegini again, what you call it deja vu.
since madrid did not get the two away goals, they needed atleast one goal before halftime yesterday.
my friend, bender was on the ground lying in pain from some challenge, that did not look bad enough to warrant so much time wasting...not meaning to be harsh, but santana came on for kuba, while bender was still looking to come off.
cant fault klopp for that, any manager would have hoped his players did the same to milk the clock,if it meant a place in a champions league final.
dortmund was the better team but i can still point to kuba being offside and reus use of his hand to gain control of the ball to win that pk......did dormund create enough to score more than 2 at home, yes they did.
did dortmund create chances in the 2nd half in the bernabeu to score, yes they did.
who knows what would happened yesterday if higuain scored in the 4th minute or he got a penalty for the trip by hummels.
who knows what would have happened if ronaldo picked a side of the goal with his volley or ozil passed to him instead of dragging it wide.
the madrid players might believe they are the one of the best squads in europe, like i do,but you cant only step up when united score in the bernabeu or when you need two goals in old trafford after falling behind again.
you cant only perform for 10minutes in germany after you scored just before halftime, then step up the pressure in the bernabeu for the 1st 20minutes,then nothing till the final 15minutes.
the players and the manager just did not do enough this season, they looked like a bunch of overpaid, lazy, media attention seeking individuals.
barca needs two goals by half time.....even one in the 1st half, then another by 55th minute could work also.
however it happens,by the 67th minute, barca must be leading 2 nil.
webb did a decent game.....as i said before the games, madrid needed two away goals to have any chance of progression, but wow,the chances we had in the 1st half today,we should have atleast scored one, damn.
i have no problem with retroactive bans.....the fear of getting a ban after knowing you did an unsporting act in the game before will have an effect.
you cant tell me if messi knew he would get banned for scoring with his hand against espanyol, that the player would still do it.
ok,you want to win,but at the expense of a 3-5 game ban,i dont think so.
if they want to add more officials, all with the power to advise the ref and with the 4th official being able to review each goal before it`s awarded, then that could work, but i dont see that happening anytime soon.
i just dont think webb is good,i dont fear he would book a player or send him off,he is just overrated in my eyes.
i`m not using him as an excuse,he might bless us with some calls who knows.
we need help, kuba was offside in his set up of the 2nd goal and the penalty was soft especially with reus using his hand to control.....but dortmund deserved to win, they were far better.
