I love sports, especially Cricket, Football, Rugby Union and AFL (Australian Football League).
I am a member of FC Barcelona. I love the majestic style they play and have been to the Camp Nue many times to watch my Barca play and win.
I follow Australia when they play cricket and support my local Rugby union Brumbies team from Canberra Australia.
I am an IT specialist. And enjoy doing all kind of statistics with sports especially on teams playing against Barca to calculate the probability of a positive result for my beloved Barca . I have most of the Barca games since 1990 stored in my server.
merry Christmas to you and family.....one Italian team left in champs league
in passing I heard of some big fires down under, was worried about you my friend.....things are cool on my side, felt Madrid did enough for a draw in the clasico.
I think villa could have stayed, but he as messi had reached an end in their playing together relationship, atleast it appears so.
I expected neymar to be a wide player and with sanchez and pedro,it seems the squad is quiet happy to play the early ball out wide to get those three on the ball.
I never had doubts about fabregas, being that it`s a world cup year, xavi, cesc and iniesta has to be rotated with any two playing from the start,it seems the team is willing to obey martino orders and not go to the press with their gripes as they tended to do under tito......after this same amount of games last season, reports were out about cesc being unhappy, sanchez and pedro feeling like they are not important.
in a strange way.it seems the trashing Bayern put on barca was a good thing as the team is now dealing in reality, not to always go with wild abandon but respect the moment.
the team won with less than 60% of the ball for the 1st time in years, they did not leave gaps but picked when to attack and took calculated risks....something the team seemed unwilling to do because they were only winning.
like I told before.the similarities of the losses to inter and Chelsea is why pep felt it was time for a new voice in the players ear,in my opinion.tito was more like pep and it did not work in Europe, tata martino is a different type of manager, the players are high pressing again.
certain teams in la liga do give barca alil trouble,if luck is on their side on the day, osasuna, sociedad, espanyol, valencia, sevilla and Villarreal......maybe it`s their style.
have not followed all their results, but I believe barca drew with osasuna and beat espanyol 1-0.
will it be unfair of me to say maybe barca has not changed that much,if they don't blow out these teams or should I base my opinion on the knockout rounds of the champs league,i`m not sure.
barca have looked good and it seems the manager is not afraid to play both song and busquests, something I said the team needed to do and not the major overhaul you wanted.
try a change of tactics,if that does not work, then pull out the cheque book.
you don't go from being a top three squad in Europe to needing 7 players overnight, give the squad time.
if ancelotti was to use this lineup,do you think he would be viewed as defensive?
i like man city for the epl title
i think arsenal are short a center back and a forward to win the title
I did not mean shootout as penalties,i meant in an end to end open game.
i have not seen a lot of games, but it seems arsenal have found a style suited to get deep in the competition......just like on sunday he packed the midfield against westbrom, tactically wenger seems to be on a good roll.
but they have only gone behind once which was sunday and all their old habit of a high line with no one pressing the ball came back and anelka should have posion them.
true Madrid has not impressed, but their style seems ready made for the champions league and I fancy them in a shootout with any team, because of the shot stopping ability of casillas and lopez......
yeah juve has a great record against us,but with the need for points by juve, could see them take risks......rumors are that Madrid are interested in vidal,i believe he is a serious upgrade to khedira, madrid should get him.
Marseille are not living up to the hope I had in them to pull of a couple of upsets.
the games when Napoli, dortmund and arsenal face eachother holds the keys to progression.
this season klopp more than likely thinks his squad is able to show the same intensity for both league and Europe, which would be a change from the previous two seasons as in the quest to win the league, europe suffered, same as in the quest for European glory the league suffered.
I still have doubts over arsenal, but with so many injuries, they are still getting the results, even if I still think they are one goal away from a melt down, playing on the counter with their pace and style of football makes them dangerous, but I cant see them winning the champions league.
I was disappointed in the fact inter could hit a side 7 and Napoli drew with the same side,i expect marsellie to take points from them and see both Dortmund and arsenal qualify.....
sociedad in a hole, need to get four points from the two united games to have any chance now.
atletico seems to be strong enough defensively and possess the right offensive weapons when needed.
Madrid have to brace a storm from juve, juve need 4 pts badly.
Milan need three pts from the barca back to backs.
speaking of the Italian teams since you did pick one to win, juve did start slowly last season,so I wont count them out yet,but should Madrid get 4 pts from those games,i think juve could be in trouble.
would have preferred to see modric start ahead of khedria, but it was a silly mistake by di maria which led to the goal.
to be honest when I saw that ref in charge I was not expecting anything more than a draw, the matches I see him call for Madrid in the bernabeu we tend to struggle.
not that he is against Madrid, but calls other refs might gave,he wont.
atlectico deserved the win, they were good enough, felt a draw might have been ok still, seeing we played a midweek game.
was not making a comparison of games, was just saying both games had controversy in it and it was both called by the same ref.
