Gregory's Bio
As a life long sports fanatic, my life has revolved and evolved around sports and my experiences with them. Growing up I played basketball everyday, high school baseball and sports video games in between. At college I realized that my professional sports dreams were just that, dreams that would stay as images in my mind. So to keep a part of my life connected to the sports world - besides the intramural sports world - I began writing about my favorite athlete and favorite sport. After not being able to find enough content on the web about Tracy McGrady, member of the Orlando Magic at the time, I contacted a website with T-Mac info and began my sports writing career. From there I wrote for T-Mac.com, covered Magic games, met T-Mac in person and even got a picture to preserve that memory. Having gained a little experience in sports coverage, I picked up a sports writing job with the FSView - Florida State University's student newspaper. After a semester covering FSU sports, I became an assistant editor, then finally the sports editor the following year. I continued with the FSView until graduating in 2005 with an English degree. I then returned home to Fort Lauderdale where I covered local high school football for the Sun-Sentinel before settling in to a full-time teaching job. Currently I'm still hoping to find a permanent gig in the sports world and continue to write when I can. At this time I am also a "Glogger" for sportsline.com, providing written commentary to games as they progress.

The Short List facts and information about Gregory Urbano
Favorite Athletes
Jerry Rice, Tracy McGrady and Ken Griffey Jr.
Favorite Sports Teams
San Francisco 49ers, Houston Rockets and FSU Seminoles.
All Time Sports Moment
Being there in person, on the field and just 10 feet from the action, I watched as Chris Rix rolled out of the pocket and launched a prayer in the air that somehow dropped into the arms of PK Sam to defeat the Florida Gators in the last seconds of a game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Most Memorable Game Attended
Aside from FSU defeating UF on the Rix miracle, seeing Philip Rivers and the NC State Wolfpack push the Seminoles to triple overtime in front of a crazy, sell-out Seminole crowd was something I'll always remember - especially since we pulled out the victory.
Most Unbreakable Sports Record
Anything by Jerry Rice, but I'll say that NO player will ever near 200 total TDs. Rice stands at 207 total TDs, 197 receiving.
Ruth or Mays?
Playing baseball as a child, Babe Ruth was bigger than the game. Just watch "The Sandlot" to see what legends are made of.
Unitas or Montana?
As a 49ers fan, of course it's Montana. Joe Cool picked up a ring before Jerry Rice, then became the greatest of all time picking up 4 rings along the way.
Pele or Maradona?
Madonna. As good as Pele probably was, Madonna was really hot when I was an adolescent, and she provided me with some of the first evidence that not all women had cooties. Oh wait, Maradona? Who's that.
Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?
ACC all the way. I'm a Seminole, what would you expect?
