The Shortlist »

  • Favorite Athletes

Ted Williams, for serving his country in two wars while still making his way into the record books. Can you imagine if he could have had those seasons spent abroad back? Former Syracuse hoops star John Wallace. Lou Merloni, for creating the "Merloni Shuttle" and agreeing to play baseball when others would not. Also, Rory Fitzpatrick (NHL/AHL), Bill Mueller, Yaz, Jim Ed, Mel Parnell, Pokey Reese, Mike Lowell, David Ortiz, Johnny Pesky, Bobby Doerr, Todd Bertuzzi, Jim Kelly, Bryce Paup, Steve Tasker, Jon Lester, Josh Beckett, Gabe Kapler, James Braddock and Pedro.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Boston Red Sox, followed by the Buffalo Bills (odd combo, I know).

  • Favorite Coaches

    Terry Francona and Jim Boeheim

  • All Time Sports Moment

    2004 ALCS. Pick a moment.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

All of the hockey games I played in as a youth and at the JUCO level.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Johnny Vander Meer's two, consecutive no-hitters. Is anyone today really going to throw three consecutive no-hitters? With the lineups today and the effectiveness of bullpens, I highly doubt it.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Ruth

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Montana

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Jordan

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky, but Orr would have easily won in a fight, if he could even get Gretzky to drop the gloves.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    American Football

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Federer

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

    Earnhardt?

  • Schumacher or Senna?

Serioiusly? I had a hard enough problem coming up with an answer for Petty or Earhardt.

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

    Big East

Hey Daniel,

If you get a chance, I just wrote up a preliminary 2010 draft piece. I'd be honored if you could edit it.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks for your edit. Someday I'll figure out that whole "less-than-10-is-written-as-a-word," thing with numbers. Or is it "less-than-ten?" hehehe. Appreciate knowing you're not officially holding a position within the Red Sox organization, as my heart dropped to my knees when I first saw Todd's (below) comment. :) Thanks again, Daniel. ~kathryn

Thanks for the edit on my A-Rod article, and I am glad that you liked it. It was actually my senior research paper that I wrote this year. It made it much easier having the ability to write it on something I enjoy, sports. I found it pretty interesting that the steroid A Rod took was one that Bonds has allegedly tested positive for.

Daniel, because I'm slow, I didn't think about the fact that writing a B/R piece, then importing that piece to my blog, which is set to syndicate to B/R, would cause a problem. As it was, you actually edited a story that has been out there for a little while. But thanks anyways!

No you didn't step on any toes here. I just like to thank anyone who improves on what I've written that I may have overlooked.

The Red Sox are a special team, and I always enjoy when they beat the Yankees.

As for the Bills, they are a promising team, and I had them pegged as THE sleeper team last season, but they disappointed me. I hope they make a comeback this season, and surprise everyone.

I added myself as a fan, so when you write anything in the future, if you feel like posting a link on my BB, feel free!

Thanks for the edits, Daniel. They look good!

I'm surprised you subject yourself to being a Bills fan, but you're probably as surprised that I subject myself to being an Eagles and Panthers fan, lol.

Thanks again for taking time to look my article on Peppers over.

Thanks for the edits. BTW, you're not the first to change the headline prepositions from capitals, But there isn't anything I can do about it (that I know of anyway); it automatically capitalizes them and won't let me change it.
