About Ric »

I am an avid fan of soccer (Man U/Bayern Munich/Columbus Crew) and hockey (Rangers and Blue Jackets). I follow Ohio State and University of Kentucky football and basketball. I am a life long Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan, thanks for the sympathy. I participate in online MMA fantasy leagues where I am usually inside the top 1% on my predictions. I play golf, tennis, basketball, softball, and I am a league and tournament bowler. I write about everything and anything. I like any feedback I get, positive or negative. I write my opinions knowing not everyone will agree, but if everyone thought the same thing there would be no point in sharing our thoughts.

Hey Ric,

I just completed the second of a three part series between myself, Mike Kline and Justin McTeer, breaking down the Duke Blue Devils basketball season.

I highlight the back court of Duke and the different players that will need to contribute to the team. If you get a chance, check it out.

Feedback is always appreciated. Thanks!

Heya Ric, I've just posted a new top 10 list, "If athletes were items around the house".

Who is the toilet brush, the flat screen TV, the cockroach and the Seinfeld box set?

Any feedback would be really appreciated.

You are right, Ric, Cleveland is not a hockey market but it is not bad luck. For some unknown reason hockey is extremely unpopular there and it is one of the reasons why the NHL cannot get a decent American tv contract. Actually I find it very strange that hockey is not more popular in the Ohio-Indiana area. It is a cold-weather climate, close to the Canadian border. But Cincinnati and Indianapolis are failed WHA franchises and Cleveland probably had the most horrendous attendance in NHL history (averaging around 6000 fans in an 18,000 seat arena) that has scarred the NHL from ever trying there again. Maybe you can write an article explaining hockey's unpopularity in this region.

As a Browns fan myself, I can remember watching Jim Brown play as a child. Though he is no longer the NFL's all time rushing leader, he quit after only nine seasons and was probably the best running back to ever play the game. Maybe instead of selling him a hockey team, the Browns should sign him again to play and see what he can do.

Hi Ric, thanks for reading and enjoying my article. Since you are a Cleveland Browns fan, I think Jim Brown should be added to the list of touring athletes or better yet, maybe they should sell him one of the money-losing franchises and move it to Cleveland. He might have more success selling NHL tickets than the disasterous time the NHL had a franchise there briefly in the 1970's.
