Phoenix Rising: Coyotes' Efforts Shouldn't Go Unnoticed
March 14, 2008
I love sports and am a huge supporter of Toronto's teams - Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC. I am also into playing golf and am getting into NFL football. Go Eagles!
My friends who are into sports make fun of me because I always cheer on what they call "two bit players"....come on people, just because I have a Mikael Tellqvist jersey, don't hate!
I also love to write and have wanted to be a sports writer forever, so figured this was a great opportunity.
Hey Jennifer,
Great article on the Marlies, couldn't agree more. I have followed them all year, and reported on them throughout the season on my "Maple Leafs Notes" columns.
The attendance there has been poor since they came in, and you couldn't be more right. Toronto is not a hockey city, it is a Maple Leafs city, which is a shame, because there are some great players in the AHL, and the Marlies in particular.
A tellqvist jersey? lol, hey, what can I say, I got rooked into a Wellwood jersey last season, and look where that got me.
Welcome to the site!
Jenifer, for a first piece, you did an excellent job breaking down the Coyotes—it's great to have you on board here at Bleacher Report!
I have to agree that the 'Yotes are an under-rated team, and I've been pushing for this team all year, just like yourself. In fact, I made a bet with my buddy (who is a coyotes fan because they used to be the Jets) that if Phoenix finishes off with a better record than the Leafs, I have to write a huge Pro-Coyotes piece. Needless to say, come the end of the season, the bet is off and I'm writing it anyways!
As I said, it's good to have you aboard. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to ask!
