Greatest CBB Teams Not to Win the National Championship
April 22, 2012
My name is Bryan Weynand, and I am a 24-year old proud North Carolinian living in Chapel Hill. Born to two Carolina parents, I have lived and died with the Tar Heels through my entire life, recently as a 2010 graduate of UNC and current student at UNC School of Law. I was also born a fan of the Atlanta Braves, and I adopted at a young age the Carolina Panthers as an expansion franchise.
For more on my life as a Carolina basketball fan, see the introductory post to the personal blog I started last year: http://bleedingblue14.wordpress.com/2011/04/09/hello-world/
25 greatest CBB teams to not win the title without '75 or '93 Hoosiers?
The '76 team is generally considered the (or one of the top 2-3) best team of all time and the '75 team was was also undefeated with same starting lineup and a deeper bench. They lost to a Kentucky team in the regional final that they had beaten by 25 during the season. Player of the Year Scott May broke his arm before the Kentucky game and they lost by 2.
The '93 team was ranked #1 overall entering the tournament and had swept the same Michigan team that you have #11. IU lost Alan Henderson prior to that tournament and they lost by 4 to Kansas in the regional final.
You're a little too young to still be bitter about '81 and '84. Do a little research. A half dozen Carolina teams on this list but you omit these two Indiana teams? Good grief. Publish this homer garbage in the UNC school paper.
Thanks for favoriting my Izzo/Petrino article!
