Yankees Can Make the Playoffs, Just Don’t Bet On It
08/21/2008
I am a University of Virgina alunmnus...Go Hoos! I live in Washington DC and I am the proud father of 4 very athletic children.
Felipe is gone for sure. No question. I like Guzman hitting third. He is a good contact hitter and has speed, so double plays are harder to turn on him.
I like the trade. Belliard will be a good backup, and will really be able to play anywhere. You are right about Dmitri, he's never been that solid, just had a good year in '07.
I really think this team will be in better shape for next year. The DL bug has plagued us too much for this year to be salvaged. It's all about pride at this point.

DeleteHow about this new kid leading off, Lastings Milledge, Guzman, Zimmy, Dmitria (or his replacement, maybe Belliard) Elijah Dukes, Willie Harris, Catcher (since Paul Lo Duca said he wants a trade), Pitcher?
And if you get a chance read the thing on Paul Lo Duca in the Post today. He acts like he's leading the team in anything, or that he's been an asset. He hasn't really done anything!
