Why Tim Tebow Was Still In The Game: Style Points in The BCS Era
09/28/2009
I began my love affair with sports in the Summer of 1986. I was almost 11 years old and my best friend had played baseball since he was very young. He broke his hand in a freak accident in the house and I spent that Spring watching Yankees and Mets baseball. I totally fell for two young stars in the making named Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry... I was hooked from there.
Since then, I've abandoned the Mets entirely, adopted the Jets as my favorite football team (poor decision), and lived in Gainesville on two seperate occassions and instantly fell in love with the Florida Gators in 2000. I started writing about two years ago as a blog and "picks" column to share with friends and my friend recommended this site to me. I wrote on different topics, but felt like my area of expertise was in Gator sports... especially football.
I wrote a few articles for B/R before leaving my job in Northern Virginia and returning to Gainesville, FL to again work for the University of Florida. I stopped writing about Gator sports as I couldn't resolve the conflict of interest since I work for the school and interact with the athletes on a regular basis (I don't work for the Athletic association). But as of August 2009... I've decided that I can do it and I'm back!
This football season, 2009, I will be chronicling the Gator football season in a series titled: "The View from the Top" It's a double-meaning as my beloved Gators are ranked pre-season #1 and CLEAR favorites to repeat as National Champions AND I got my season tickets in the mail recently and my seat is in Section 53, Row 89. For those not familiar with the Swamp... there are only 90 rows of seats. Thus... my view... "from the Top".
My writing tends to be a "full serving" of sports humor, knowledge and analysis. The "View from the Top" series will be posted twice a week on Sundays and Wednesday/Thursdays and focus on the Florida Gators season, the perspective from the stands, tailgating and other social commentary from around the stadium, and picks and analysis of other SEC teams, rivals and games of interest.
I hope you enjoy. Go Gators!
Hey, I just completed my second article on Duke Football, trying to become a Duke Football Featured Columnist. I preview the Top 5 Offensive Players to keep an eye on in 2009. Since I am trying to become a FC, please leave any feedback that you can, what I should do differently next time, things I can do to improve the article, etc. Thanks in advance. I appreciate the support!

Hey Scott—Jeff here, a Bleacher Report Community Coordinator.
I've been spending time on our Gators page and read a couple of your old articles. Really on-point analysis...you do good work.
Given that you haven't written in a while, I thought I'd check in and see if you're interested in picking up your coverage again. What do you say?
If not, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on why you decided to stop writing and what we could have done to better serve you. If you wouldn't mind, please shoot me a line at jeff@bleacherreport.com with any thoughts.
Thanks so much,
Jeff
