Hello, I'm Carlos R. Grubb. I am the father of three children and i have one grandchild. My oldest children are my twin daughters, my youngest is my son. The twins, who are identical, are 30 (whew, that makes me feel old). But actually, we had them when we were still young ourselves, so age is a relative term. I have to say that there is something to be said about having children young. You get to grow up with them and we had a blast doing it. My youngest is my son he is 18. It has always been my dream to be a sportswriter. I was an amateur boxer in my teens. I won three consecutive titles in my weight class (147 lbs) in the old AAU before they folded and it was all Golden Gloves. Which, by the way, developed some of the greatest fighters of all time. When I said I won three titles, they were state titles by the way. But the way those writers could make it sound so exciting well they could make you sound like you were the best ever (or something you scraped off the bottom of your shoe). It always made me want to be just like them from a kid on through life. A two story fall through a temporary staircase on a job I was doing, installing fireplaces, have ended my days of competition on the court playing pick-up games of basketball, which was my best sport. It has left me with just one dream, the best one of all, to still one day, maybe just maybe, to be a sportswriter.
Carlos passed away on March 22, 2012. This was one of his favorite places to be. Thank you for giving him peace when he was in so much pain.
It has to do with the popularity of the topic on that particular day. So many people were searching the internet for information on Kurt Warner last week...less so for Griffey this week.
That said, it's a fantastic piece and I will be writing a comment shortly. Thanks so much for the contribution—keep the awesome stuff coming!
Sounds good Carlos...just let me know!
The edits are no problem at all. It's my pleasure. Feel free to ask any questions you may have at any time. Thanks...
