"I am a native Californian who is a rabid hockey and Red Wings fanatic. I didn't think this was all that weird until Greg Eno expressed to me his incredulity, so now, I feel a need to explain myself (thanks, Greg). Here's the long and the short of it. A friend got me into hockey in the early 90's. He was a Kings fan, but his dad was from Detroit and was a huge Red Wings fan. To piss my friend off, I would root for the Wings. That is, until, I noticed No. 19 in red was always the best player on the ice. Watching Steve Yzerman play solidified my love for the Wings which has been unwavering ever since.
I call myself a monogamous sports fan in that, I only follow hockey. I enjoy watching football, catch boxing when I can and every once in a while will tune into a Laker game. But, hockey is my only sports love and the only sport I write about. I am also a long time player and captained a club team for three seasons. As many can attest, playing the game makes you appreciate watching it all the more and, in my opinion, gives you a better insight when writing about it.

Tune in to the Knee Jerks Radio Show on the Sports Geeks Radio Network (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/mkesportsgeeks) every 1st and 3rd Monday at 7:45pm EST all season long to hear me talk all things Red Wings with Greg Eno and Big Al Beaton!
Thanks for reading!
Haven't seen many of your article lately. Hopefully you will be back when an NHL season finally starts.
If you are interested in a fantasy hockey league I need a few more owners in an established yahoo league. It's the 7th year for my H2H points based league. Live draft is tomorrow night at 7:30. All of the owners are active all season. League ID is 34284 password is 1. I look forward to seeing you.
Hey, would you be able to send your e mail to klangan@omnipossible.com? I want to get the B/R community leaders on a mailing list for a press release on behalf of Sports Media 101.
Thanks
Matt,

Matt-Just read top 25 Red Wings-nice job! Who were your 26 thru 42? Were Gadsby, Libbett, Redmond, Bergman, Gallant, Chiasson, Kozlov, or Berenson on it? Thanks again
Do you think that guys like Bieksa, Erhoff, Kaberle, etc. are paying a lot of attention to the Red Wings situation right now?
I mean, if I am Bieksa, I have to know the Wings want me and know they can't start making offers until July so I may hold off on signing with Vancouver until then. Just wondering if you think the players are more likely to holdout just to give the wings the chance to make them an offer. Their agents are watching the marketplace for them right?
What do you mean 'I makes sense?' Of course it does NOT make sense. losing to an inferior team. As coach Babcock has said, the series could have done either way, and Detroit's way without the bad bounce off Stuart's skate in overtime of Game 1.
Hey whats your prediction for tonight's Caps-Pens game?
Matt, Nice article on the best 10 rivalries. I made a comment go see. BTW, do you have any relatives back in NY? I remember a long time ago, a splinter of my family went to Detriot. We could be related!
Next article topic, top ten metchups for the next 10 winter classics! (where are my rangers?
