Dan has yet to fill out a bio.
Thanks! Appreciate it.
Greeting fellow lakers fan can i be the first to say DWIGHT HOWARD SUCKS
Yeah, pretty much agree entirely. I agree with his No. 1 choice, but after that... not at all.
Lol, I agree now. Kelly is a moron. Look at his playoff performance rankings.
Kelly definitely has some blatantly biased articles, but I think all-in-all, he's solid.
Yeah, I agree with most of the stuff you mentioned. The Magic vs. Jordan thing is just so close. Anyway, it's like 11 where I'm at, so I'm gonna head to bed. It was cool talking to you, so I'll see you later.
Yeah, I agree. They definitely need some more credible writers on here. There are guys like Kelly and Adam, who in my opinion are quality writers. But those type of guys are few and far between on B/R.
I think Magic gets too much hate for that '91 Finals. His supporting cast was nowhere close to what it was in the '80s -- No Kareem, Worthy hobbled the entire series, Scott having to sit the final game. It was amazing that Magic even got them there. The one absolutely huge advantage that Magic has over MJ is making teammates better. Magic was the greatest ever at doing that, while there's no real evidence that Jordan ever did.
The only reason that I truly embrace the MJ vs. LeBron debate is because I think he's the only current player who even gives him a run for his money. Respectfully, I think Kobe's way off. Duncan was never dominant enough. Wade isn't healthy enough. KD is too young. He's the only guy who's really comparable at this point.
Yeah, I agree that PER is an overrated stat, but it's definitely significant. Either way, judging by PER, WS/48, or traditional per-game stats, I think it's clear that LeBron had the statistical edge over Kobe and Wade.
I know I may come off as a Kobe hater, but I try not to be. I was a huge fan of his until a couple years ago when I thought he was starting to get overrated. The only real criticisms of his that I have are his defense the last few years and a couple off-the-court issues with teammates and stuff. Other than that, I think he's still one of the ten greatest players ever. That's a huge compliment.
And, no. I haven't submitted any articles to B/R yet. I'm gonna finish some of the projects that I'm working on right now, finish school, wait for summer and maybe I'll apply. I think B/R thinks it may have enough NBA writers and at this point, which is pretty disappointing.
Thanks a lot on the article thing! Do you think that Magic's better than MJ? I wrestle and go back and forth with that question all the time. Right now, I think MJ's defense puts him over the top, but I could definitely be convinced otherwise.
This is just me personally: there were some of the greatest candidates ever in 2009, and the fact that the vote was so decidedly in LeBron's favor should have put it to bed. I'm fine with arguing MVP votes, but it's hard to argue with a guy who had the second-best PER of the modern era, was 2nd in DPOY voting, while also claiming 109/121 first-place votes. With a vote that lopsided, I think it's a bit pretentious to disagree whole-heartedly.
