Mac has yet to fill out a bio.
Appreciate the heads up Mac. Understood. It was a funny comment.
Zambrano has anger issues and maybe some mental issues. I don't know about that, but, on the field, I have never seen him quit. That's where it counts. Zambrano did not quit on the team. He's emotional and a little crazy like I said. I knew without a doubt he would come back later and say he didn't mean it, but the idiot manager called him out to the media. Then, Hendry goes along and suspends him indefinitely supporting the manager who never should have had the job in the first place.
Zambrano didn't like Piniella, and had no respect for Quade. You would be surprised how many players felt the same about both of them. Zambrano didn't have as many issues until Piniella came. There were some episodes before, but he was not too bad when Dusty Baker was there. It's not an excuse, but he had one manager who didn't want to be there in Piniella, and another one who shouldn't manage a little league team. Okay, maybe a little league team. Then he could use all of his nicknames for the kids.
Soriano's lack of hustle stood out whether the team won or lost. You couldn't miss it, even if you were Stevie Wonder. There is no excuse for not trying or running balls out, and he said it himself. How can you let him get a pass?
As for Derrek Lee, he was never a leader. The only time he ever opened his mouth was that one time in the dugout. Don't mistake that for leadership.
One last thing for you Mac on your boy Soriano. Here's a quote from him in David Haugh's column in the Tribune a couple of days ago. "I know I sometimes have some problems running out the ball, so that motivates me." He was referring to Sveum reminding him when he forgets to run out fly balls.
Yep, that's the guy I want, and the guy I'm going to put up an argument for.
I'm glad you agree with me about Zambrano. I don't think he threw at Jones. He could have hit him if he wanted to.
Zambrano had warts, but I can't stand a player who doesn't try, and Soriano is the poster boy.
You have your opinion and I have mine, but if you have a team full of dogs like Soriano, you will never win anything. If you have a team of guys who hate to lose, well, you figure that out.
