Umer 's Bio

I am a die-hard Oakland Raiders fanatic and will be till the very end! I am also a large fan of the Los angeles Lakers and besides the NBA & NFL, I am not very familiar with other sports. I am also a sophomore at my High School where I currently play wide reciever for the school's football team. I will always respect the opinions, reviews, comments and critique of others as long as they are not profane and respect my views as well.

The Short List What Umer thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

Ken "The Snake" Stabler, Fred Blienktoff, Marcus Allen, Rich Ganon, Tim Brown, Jamarcus Russell, (all the raiders pretty much!) Jerry Rice, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Erwin "Magic" Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlein and many more...

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Lakers

  • All Time Sports Moment

The Oakland Raiders beating the Tennesse Titans 41-24 in the 2001-02 AFC Championship Game! Also, Robert Horry shoting a three pointer in the final seconds of the 2002 Westarn Conference Finals against the Sacramento Kings.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

    (Haven't had one yet)

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

The Patriots going 18-0 and then losing the Superbowl to the Giants was probably a great experience for any football lover unless of course you are Patriots fan.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Ruth

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana. You can't argue with four super bowl rings and all those great final second heroics he pulled. Not to metion, all the unhappy Bengal fans he made. Unitas was without doubt a great QB as well playing in a time when QBs were just handed the playbooks and expected to do all the play calling themselves. Unitas found much sucess in this difficult system.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Pele

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

    Pac 10

  1. Hi,
Check out my new article on Madden's return to the Raiders? Let me know what you think..http://bleacherreport.com/articles/160953-john-madden-possible-return-to-the-silver-and-black

  2. Tell me what you think my friend, this is part II on the WR hunt in oakland...

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/138555-oakland-insider-why-not-grab-marvin-harrison-from-free-agency

  3. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/112096-bo-jackson-what-could-have-been

He was probably the greatest athlete of all time. He had more talent than any running back in history. If only he had never played baseball....

  4. You have to check out my new article: Breaking news in Oakland, it hillarious! Let me know what you think. Take care Bro.

  5. If you get a chance read about my latest experience at the Colliseum!

  6. I'm happy to help, Umer. Thanks again for sharing your work, and please do keep it coming when you can.

    Best,

    Ryan

  7. Thanks for posting back Umer, and sorry for my lengthy delay, been sunning myself in the Balearic Islands, however back now and see that our ability to 'prevent' in the 4th has prevented us from winning...

    Still keeping the faith dude!

  8. Umer

You're welcome for the add. I'm a long way from the heart of the action (albeit the heart seems to be suffering from a blocked ventricle this week). The articles you lot write keep us in touch over here as the mass media tend not to cover the NFL to any great length in the UK.

Keep fighting the fight and thanks for your hard work.

  9. Umer, I thought I added you a while ago. Keep up the good work.

  10. Hey Umer-

I thought I'd make a few points so that you could edit your story (I don't want to call you out in a negative way or come across as derogatory):

    Morrison is only 6-2.

Shawn Merriman is a 3-4 outside backer that plays with a hand in the turf so his tackle numbers are not going to be prolific.

    Best of luck.

    Chris

  11. Umer,

The voting for the 5th round starts today. I want to thank you again for your support.

    Jeff

  12. Umer,

I'm in a contest to co-host a Radio show on a L.A. radio station and I'm in need of votes. Every contestant was given the directive to drop a two minute demo, I've done that and have advanced to the 5th round of the 7 round contest. The site to check me out if www.am570radio.com the contest is called "Fame & Fortune II" there is a Fame & Fortune II Vote Now banner on the site and I am in the 'L' bracket. Go to the site and check me out.

    Jeff

  13. Umer,

I've written a few Raiders articles, you've responded to one I want your take on the others.
