Andrew's Bio

Andrew has been around on Bleacher virtually from the start and a community leader for around 2 years in the World Football section. He is a former professional footballer in the South African lower leagues with a love for very much everything football.

24 year old Andrew spent the last 3 months of the 2008/09 season as a Setanta football reporter for http://www.setanta.com/uk in the Scottish Premier League section. He writes match reports, gives out player ratings and covers the post match interviews every weekend from an SPL ground.

Sadly, the demise of Setanta means he will be looking for new employment during his final year of his BA Journalism degree at university but has something in the pipeline. He'll keep you all posted.

For anyone checking out this site it is important to know Andrew used his work on Bleacher Report to land his job at Setanta as well as an article published in the Thomas Cook travel magazine. This is not only practice for a career in the industry, this is very much a shop window for young writers so aspiring journalists should keep this in mind.

Bio:-

Andrew moved to South Africa as a 13 year old and grew up in a culture of sport in the rainbow nation. He returned to Scotland in 2008 with a failed football career and a Diploma in Journalism under his belt. During his studies he spent plenty of time at St Georges Park, Port Elizabeth, working with the Protea's and some of the best cricketers in the world. Come to think of it, a year full of once in a lifetime moments.

  3. Hey Andy, in what I hope to be a new feature to the site, I've written a comprehensive biography of France Legend Michel Platini, it's long so I can understand if you don't have the time to look at it but otherwise I'd really appreciate your opinion on it.
