About Joseph »

Well, where do I begin?

My name is Joseph Lopez, and I currently attend California State University, Fullerton. I'm majoring in English and I'm planning to pursue perhaps a teaching career. However, I'm very tempted to change my major and become an Animation/Entertainment Major.

Aside from school, I'd say I'm a huge sports fan in general. My favorite baseball team is the Oakland Athletics. And my favorite baseball player, is none other than 6-time Gold Glover, Eric Chavez. Chavvy is one of the most professional and dedicated guys out there, and although he's had health related injuries, he's always finding way to contribute to the team. As for football, my favorite team happens to be the Oakland Raiders. My favorite NFL player is Rich Gannon, who like Chavvy, is an absolute cool dude. Gannon was dedicated, poised, and really talented in the later years of his career. He found success with Raiders, and won the NFL MVP Award in 2002. He's been a huge influence on my life, not only in a sports sense, but in real life as well. The way he handled things on and off the field was great.

I'm still pretty new to Bleacher Report, just under 10 months since I joined. But, I'm already a Featured Columnist for the Oakland Athletics community and I enjoy writing and producing new material on a consistent basis. I really take a great deal of pride in my work, and I try to produce nothing short of high-quality analysis. I also try to stay respectful and positive, and I always appreciate others' opinions, feedback and beliefs. I strongly believe that conversation is important, because it really keeps writers on their feet, not to mention it keeps them honest. It also keeps them motivated to continue writing. Some of the conversations I've had recently really motivated me to write, and I really appreciate any feedback or suggestions you might have.

Again, thanks for being supportive and thanks for reading!

    Hey Joseph,

I wrote a piece in May highlighting the position players that I thought should make the all star team. I started a 2-part follow up piece today focusing on starting pitchers. I started with AL. If you get the chance, I'd appreciate it if you took a look at it. Thanks
