Wade's Bio

I'm a 23 year old college student at Athens, Ohio. I currently write for a few different websites, including deathrattlesports.com and craveonline.com. I have also helped out the football coaches here at Ohio University when I wrote a recruiting evaluation for prospects from the state of Illinois. I'm a die-hard college football fan and love the game more than just about anything else in this world. I can never get enough of it and if the right situation ever arose I might want to get into college football coaching. There is simply too much to say in this space, but if you want to know anything else drop me an e-mail at wadepeery@yahoo.com or an IM at wpeery23.

Favorite Athletes

Michael Jordan, Tayshaun Prince, John Beck, Dan Lefevour, the list really goes on forever...

Favorite Sports Teams

Virginia Cavaliers, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions,

All Time Sports Moment

Michael Jordan sinking the shot over Byron Russell. Last shot of the series, nothing but net, Jordan wins the NBA Finals MVP Trophy and yet another NBA title--it simply does not get any better.

Most Memorable Game Attended

Virginia defeating Florida State in 2005 was pretty amazing. I was in the house for that game and Marques Hagans had one of the best performances I will ever see by a quarterback in my life.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

good question I will have to get back to you on that

Ruth or Mays?

Willie Mays

Unitas or Montana?

Joe Montana--captain clutch himself

Jordan or Russell?

Michael

Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky

Pele or Maradona?

Pele--even though I'm not a big soccer fan at all

Federer or Sampras?

Pete Sampras will forever be the king of grass--nobody will ever match his dominance of the All England club.

Tiger or Nicklaus?

I'm a big Tiger Woods fan, but I gotta go with the Golden Bear. Without Jack--Tiger Woods wouldn't be nearly as motivated

Petty or Earnhardt?

Nascar is not a sport

Schumacher or Senna?

I know Schumacher is a stud--but I'm not a big Indy car fan at all.

Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

I'm an ACC boy at heart because I grew up going to Virginia football games, but the one conferenc that stands above the rest in college football--SEC.

  1. Excuse me, Ricky Santos lol... Andy Santos is a friend of mine. Sorry about the mistake. Yes, Chip Kelly is a genius. I've had the honor of meeting him, though I doubt he would still know me. The word on the street down here in Oregon is that in a few years he will replace Mike Belloti.

  2. Hey Wade, thanks for the note. I wish Dixon had gone to KC, where he would have had the chance to start immediatley. Instead, they got Andy Santos, Chip Kelly's other protoge.

  3. Not a problem! It was a great piece and I look forward to more.

  4. Hey Wade,

I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.

Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.

Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Wade!

  5. No sweat, Wade. It was a great preview and I think a lot of people enjoyed it, since those teams don't get a lot of mainstream coverage from the ESPN's of their world and you gave the preview a full, in-depth treatment, which I'm sure fans on both sides appreciated. Good stuff.

  6. Great article, Wade. The Oregon loss and Dixon's injury caught me by surprise. At the time, I was hoping Oregon would win out so the Trojans could make the Rose Bowl with a win over ASU. Now, I'm looking for the Ducks to fall again without their senior QB (and boy did Ryan Leaf's brother look bad in relief last Thursday), to clear the way for an improbably SC Pac 10 title. The more things change...the more they stay the same.

  7. Thanks for the message, Wade. I'm simply shocked that Oregon managed to blow this opportunity.

Although I can't complain about an LSU v. West Virginia matchup...which I think is most likely right now.

  8. Good stuff, Wade. I like your strategy - get your writing out there as many places as possible, get more exposure and more feedback. Makes sense. Anyway, glad you chose BR as one of your homes.

  9. Hey Wade -

I really enjoyed the Fontel Mines interview. That's one of the first athlete interviews I believe I've seen on BR, and it adds a great new dimension to the site. Hopefully you can snag some more (just keep Facebooking...). Anyway, just wanted to give you the thumbs up.

    Dave

  10. No problem Wade. Happy to help.
