About

Born and raised in Brazil, football [read: soccer] and Formula 1 were practically ingrained into me. Having come of age and understanding during the magnificent 1992 Formula 1 season, Ayrton Senna became an instant hero and lifelong role model to me; and as if to make me even more of a sports fanatic, Romário led Brazil to qualifying ahead of Uruguay in a 1993 CONMEBOL qualifier that could be best described for what it was: a death match. With that, Romário became second only to Senna in my childhood booklet of heroes and role models.

Thus begun my journey into the realm of sports. Because Romário played at FC Barcelona at the time of his heroic exploits for A Seleção, it was only right that I [in doing the unthinkable for a Brazilian] would become a Culé and support L'equip Blaugrana. But Romário, Senna, Formula 1, and Barcelona were simply a start for me. I have since become an avid lover of multiple sports categories raging from the classical Olympic variety to the more extreme and unorthodox of styles.

I tend to describe myself as a football fanatic first, and a Barcelona and A Seleção supporter second since I will watch just about any game that is on with my favorite teams always being the priority, of course. Since moving to the United States, I have since taken an interest for the popular sports here. While exposition to American sports in Brazil in the 90s was limited, having lived in the US since the early 2000s, I've since become an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, New York Giants, New York Yankees, New Jersey Devils, and am awaiting the possible return of the New York Cosmos to the MLS so that I can follow Pelé's onetime team.

Since discovering Bleacher Report, I've since made full use of its articles as a means of keeping myself informed and up to the date with all my favorites sports, teams, clubs, athletes, and personalities granted virtually all is available on here courtesy of some of the best writers on the worldwide web. I am very thankful and obliged to the work of several community members whose invaluable effort have helped create such a wonder community and only source for all things sports.

Cheers!
