Nibeyu's Bio

I grew up in Ft.Washington MD and moved too Virginia for high school in 2003. I have always been and still am a fan of Maryland sports in general whether its collegiate or professional. My first greatest sports memory was when Baltimore finally landed an NFL team named the Ravens and they went on too win the Super Bowl six years later. That 2000-2001 season where the Ravens defense was totally dominating the NFL was something special too watch and it will always be my favorite NFL season. My second and last best sports memories were the Maryland Terrapins Men's Basketball team winning it all in 2002 as well as the women's team winning the national title in 2006. In 2002 I also managed too some how pick the Terps too win it all in my tourney back in high school. Now a day's I take classes at a community college and I am working on graduating so I can move on too a good journalism school. I would love too be a sport's writer some day and its a career I aspire too take on, hopefully I can get my foot in the door.

  1. Nibeyu,

I thought you'd like this piece. You'll probably find it a bit hilarious, as I dip into an alternate vernacular and start writing as if I was "kickin' it with a homie."

Hope you like it. If you have time to read it let me know what you think.

  3. Hey I really like you're idea and I am definitely interested in doing this with you. I took some time to look over the slideshow (I will edit it later), but I would start with making the captions a little shorter. But I would definitely love to do this with you. Thanks for the opportunity.

  4. Hey first off, great article. Love the stories about the small time players that put up the big stats.

Secondly, I think Freedie Barnes could be a decent NFl player. Clearly he knows the game of football. Unfortunately he makes his living as a possesion reciever in the MAC conference. This is going to make his speed in the next level very questionable for most teams.

He is listed anywhere from 5'11" to 6'2", which means he is probably closer to less than 6 feet tall. Another problem is his injury plagued career.

Still after all of these negative things said about him, I would take a chance on him if he was available. Unfortunately I am not an NFL GM, so they may feel differently.

My feeling is if you can perform in college, then you can probably produce a little in the pros. Clearly most GMs do not feel this way.

Still, after seeing players like Joshua Cribbs and Greg Jennings, why couldn't Freddie Barnes succeed?

  5. I personally love what the Ravens are doing. They showcase consistency, perseverance, the ability to win on the road, which all great teams MUST do, and of course, the sudden offense. Take a look at this analysis I put together on how times are a-changin' in Baltimore with Harbaugh and Flacco. Comments would be appreciated, as I spent some good time on this.

  6. Many critics of the Baltimore Ravens claim the team has a "problem" at wide receiver? Oh, really? In this article, I refute that, claiming the team has bigger needs and can use the money elsewhere.

  7. I've always been proud to have Andy MacPhail in the O's front office. His trades always seem to pan out. Here, I take a look at every trade he's made as an Orioles GM, dating back to 2008. Give it a look. Thanks!

  8. I have just written a new article on the Rockets bringing Richard Hamilton in a trade for Tracy McGrady. Please take a look and be a part of the conversation!
