Hi, I found this site by chance. I currently work for a regional newspaper and combine this with a little writing on the side. Though kept very busy, with an ever-increasing workload but no pay to match, the one thing i never get to write about is my biggest passion - football. When i was about 16, I realised that I was a little too small and slow - and maybe did not possess enough skill - to become a professional footballer. Who am i kidding? I'm nearly 30 and still dream of one day, any day, playing at a professional ground. The closest i came to it was diving on to the hallowed Ipswich Town pitch after a game, but that is another story. Anyway i digress. I thought the next best thing to playing football was to cover it. But since then, i found my way into news journalism and kind of got stuck there while trotting out for my village side every Saturday afternoon. I hope writing here will at least satisfy some of my football writing thirst - even if it won't take me any closer to kicking a ball at Wembley or even Roots Hall.
