About

My name is Matthew Bishara and I am currently a student at Concordia University in Montreal Quebec. I am the biggest football nut in Canada, I am a huge fan of Big XII football, and the NFL. I have been a lifelong Patriots fan and I bleed blue, red and white for the Montreal Canadiens.

I love music of all genres, some of my favorites are the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, U2, Green Day, David Cook, Carrie Underwood. (Yes, I watch American Idol)

I am currently working on a couple of projects, I'm going to attempt a fictional novel this summer. We'll see how that works out.

I'll leave you with a few quotes from my favorite football coaches.

"We didn't lose the game; we just ran out of time." ~Vince Lombardi

"Fight on, my men, Sir Andrew said -- A little I'm hurt but not yet slain. I'll just lie down and bleed awhile -- And then I'll rise and fight again." - Marv Levy

"Being perfect is not about that scoreboard out there. It's not about winning. It's about you and your relationship with yourself, your family and your friends. Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didnt let them down because you told them the truth. And that truth is you did everything you could. There wasnt one more thing you could've done. Can you live in that moment as best you can, with clear eyes, and love in your heart, with joy in your heart? If you can do that gentleman - you're perfect." - Coach Gary Gaines.

New England Patriots, Montreal Canadiens, Texas Longhorns, and USC Trojans.

Bill Belichick, Marv Levy, and Scotty Bowman.

  • All Time Sports Moment

My favorite sports moment was when the Montreal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup in 1993.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

It was August 27th 2003, the Expos had fallen behind 8-0 after five innings, and were trailing 10-4 before scoring 7 runs in the seventh and 3 more in the eighth to pull out the win 14-10. Believer fever was at its peak in Montreal, the Expos went on to sweep the four-game series from the Phillies and were tied for second place in the NL East and tied for the wild card. Unfortunately, they immediately lost nine of their next ten games ending all hope. They proceeded to let Vlad Guerrero go after the 2003 season, they traded Cabrera and Major League Baseball effectively dismantled the core of a young and upcoming team. The Expos moved to Washington after the 2004 season only to become the laughing-stock of the Major Leagues. Losing the Expos broke my heart and successfully severed any ties I had with Major League Baseball. While I miss the game, I don't miss the heartaches of watching the Expos develop terrific young prospect only to let them go for abosolutely nothing. We were essentially the farm team for the rest of the league.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Gretzky's 92 goals in a season. It's a different game and it will never happen again. (Barring further rule changes)

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth - The father of the game, the legend of all lengends in sports.

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Unitas - See above.

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Jordan - Clutch Clutch Clutch.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Orr - He could kill an entire two minute penalty without ever giving up the puck.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Maradona - Have you ever seen highlights of this guy? Unbelievable!

  • Federer or Sampras?

Federer - So smooth, his talent is undeniable. He will return to form soon and surpass Sampras' Grand Slam mark.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger - I've watched his entire career and I've never seen anybody perform better under pressure than Tiger Woods.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

SEC is by far the best in terms of championships and NFL production. For my money I much rather watch the Big XII. ACC in College Basketball of course.

We may have not agreed in the past, but I think you will LOVE this article.

I am SURE I am going to get blasted by Colts fans for this, and I could use your support in the debate I am sure is coming.
