About Rob »

Toronto based. Been a Jays fan since 1977, an Expos fan before that. Grew up on the NBC Game of the Week; Curt Gowdy, Tony Kubek, Joe Garagiola. Baseball is one game that still bears some resemblance to the game I grew up with. I hate sabermetricians telling me that Tony Perez and Andre Dawson weren't that good. Or that anybody can drive in 120 RBI and it's just a "counting" stat. If it makes me "old school" then I wear the badge proudly.

Seeing the Tigers beat the Twins in 1985, my one and only trip to Tiger Stadium, a real ballpark, much missed.

Joe DiMaggio 56 game hit streak.

Babe.
Unitas or Montana?

Montana.
Pele or Maradona?

Pele. I don't think much of cheaters like Maradona.
