I am a 44 year old attorney living in Bakersfield, California. I grew up in DC so I love my hometown Redskins, Caps, Wizards and Nationals. I have a sensitive spot for the Orioles too as I grew up rooting for them. I like DC United but like many Americans have not yet fully embraced soccer (I am getting there though). I am getting more and more into MMA. I am also a huge WWE fan, an avid video gamer, and a big supporter of the emerging world of E-Sports. Really, I love all sports, I love writing about sports, and I love talking to others who share my passion. I am thrilled to be a Featured Columnist for the Washington Capitals here at B/R, to write for B/R and share my insights and opinions with my fellow sport nuts.
You can follow me on Twitter @DaveUngar68.
And thanks for giving props to my article on Ribeiro, too. Left that out of the original comment, haha.
Always my pleasure to give your articles props when they deserve it, Dave. I'm glad you paid so much attention to the OLD memories of the rivalry (as you usually do).
On another note: congrats on winning Caps # 2 Writer for the month of March! (T-MINUS 1:19, hahaha) You and me, once again ruling the roost. The way it should be.
Crazy game tonight, huh? And no, that one point does not feel good...
PS Zac Rinaldo is a goon.
Greg thanks. I just have never been able to get into the West Coast teams. But, yeah, the Ducks are on fire and Gabby has them playing really, really well. I like the Kings some and a lot of my friends are Kings fans. But I am a diehard DC sports fan as I lived there for my first 23 years. Why else would anyone subject themselves to rooting for the Wizards LOL. But I really like what the Ducks have done this year and I am really looking forward to seeing them and the Blackhawks tangle some. I am glad you ennoy the stuff I have been writing on the Caps.
Hey, Dave. I like your stuff on the Caps, but since you're out west you might consider becoming a Ducks fan. They're playing great with Gabby as their coach. I still can't believe the Caps let him go days after he got to 200 wins faster than any other coach in NHL history. If the stories were true, Ovie turned against him and that was that. (The beginning of my disenchantment with the used-to-be-great 8.) The Caps have been nothing special since, and the Ducks are flying high. I'm still a Caps fan but have adopted the Ducks as my western team. When I've been able to catch them on TV, they're a lot of fun to watch.
I hope to see you writing more for the wrestling section. I will look forward to it. Also, I hope you have a great holiday.
Thanks for the love on the promotion Dave! Much appreciated.
Ryan I truly appreciate you catching that error my friend. Carlina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers...Carolina Panthers LOL. At least such a team exists so it is not as bad as it could be. The O's are my AL team. I grew up rooting for them. The Nats are my favorite but the O's have a special place in my heart. I would love to see a Beltway World Series this year. Thanks again.
No worries on the typo happens to the best of us. Good article though. The O's are also my 2nd MLB team, their ball park is such a beauty.
Yup, that's me. Nice to "meet" you. I'm not too big of a hockey fan, but I read your article on 5 sports that need to be added to the Olympics, and I really enjoyed it.
Dave, this is a little late to pass on now, but in case you wanted to relive Joel Ward's Game 7 winner, complete with John Walton's radio call:
