About

You know those people you always see in a coffee shop or library, furiously typing away at their laptops? I recently became one of those people.

I'm a 27-year-old Boston transplant living in Brooklyn (hence the coffee shop analogy). In January 2012, I decided to pursue a full-time career as a writer after nearly four years in the PR department at Sports Illustrated. I learned a lot and couldn't have had a better first job out of college - plus, I have some SI bylines on my resume. But I'm happy to be striking out on my own - slightly terrified, but very happy.

I'm a die-hard Red Sox and Patriots fan, but more than that I love sports and the stories they contain. It's my dream to be a writer who's able to convey those narratives in a captivating way. So here goes nothing...

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots

  • Favorite Coaches

Terry Francona (for not letting his BoSox managerial gig consume him)

  • All Time Sports Moment

Vince Young's game-winning touchdown in the 2005 BCS title game. Still remains the most wire-to-wire, exciting game I've ever watched.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Hideo Nomo's 14-strikeout, no-walk performance in a one-hitter outing vs. the Blue Jays in 2001.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Kenyon College men's swimming winning 31 straight NCAA Division III national championships

  • Ruth or Mays?

Hank Aaron. The Home Run King remains one of the most underrated all around players in baseball history.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Unitas. As much as I love Joe Montana, Unitas was a QB trailblazer.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Russell, for his selflessness. And Jordan's Hitler moustache is just awful.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    Gordie Howe

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Pele

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Sampras. Best...serve...ever.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger. I don't care about the sex scandal, he made golf cool. Seriously...golf.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Bill Elliott. What kid doesn't love a driver sponsored by McDonald's?

  • Schumacher or Senna?

When Schumacher has a beautiful documentary made about him, we'll talk.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

SEC, because of the sun dresses.

Good idea. I don't get to edit a lot of unique articles like that. They're fun to read.
