Colin's Bio
Colin is a sports junkie currently residing in Asheville, NC. He played soccer for a long time, but now gets his activity fix through biking and backpacking. The profile pic is from when he was about 4, so you can see he's been a Cubs and Bears fan for a long time (the Braves came later). And yeah, he knows you're jealous of the stylin' pants and hot bike.

All Time Sports Moment
Is this MY all-time sports moment? Because that would be scoring the last goal in the last game during my senior year of soccer. Or just a sports moment I think is all-time? Because that would have to be Jackie Robinson...you know the rest.
-
Most Memorable Game Attended
Womens' Gold Medal Soccer Match, 1996 Olympics, USA vs. China in Sanford Stadium, Athens GA. It was completely emotional, intense, and insane.
-
Most Unbreakable Sports Record
Cy Young's 511 wins. The game has changed too much for it to be broken. Consider that someone would have to win 20 games a year for 25 years to do it, and then come back to win 12 games in his 26th season to break it. Not gonna happen.
-
Ruth or Mays?
This should be between Ruth and Williams.
-
Unitas or Montana?
Unitas. Montana may have actually been better, but Unitas wins because his last name sounds like that of a Greek god.
-
Jordan or Russell?
Oh, c'mon. I was born in Chicago.
-
Gretzky or Orr?
Orr didn't really ever play for the Blackhawks, and I would have said Gretzky anyway.
-
Pele or Maradona?
Pele. End of story.
-
Federer or Sampras?
Pistol Pete. He won more against better competition. Federer could still change my mind on this one, though.
-
Tiger or Nicklaus?
Oooohhhh...man. Tiger is so much better than his peers, but Nicklaus won SO much playing against great, great players. Gotta go with the Golden Bear.
-
Petty or Earnhardt?
Car racing is not a sport, so I don't care.
-
Schumacher or Senna?
I don't even think Senna was the best driver of his era, but this is still car racing, so I don't care.
-
Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?
Depends on the sport.

Hey Colin,
No problem on Feliz. I'm in larger fantasy leagues too and have to find those diamonds in the rough too. Hope to see more of your good work in the future.

Thanks for the POTD vote. I used to live right outside of Asheville, in Weaverville. Anyway Thanks again.

Might be a bit of both--I also feel older than I ever thought I was but that standards have become lax.
We seem to have a lot in common. The Cubs and Braves were my favourite teams in the NL before the Brewers switched leagues, and I was always an NL guy. I am not that into MLB now since it's the poorest run of the big three and not as exciting as hockey (NOT in the big three!). We even share attitudes about racing. Glad to have you aboard the site.

Glad to hear someone else hates those one-sentence paragraphs! And I know there is someone else that can feel my pain of having been raised by teachers...my wife gets annoyed when I constantly correct little things, and doesn't understand it's a reflex.

Thanks for the feedback and insight Colin.

no problem, Colin. I'm sorry for you? Time heals all wounds? (I'm no good at this...sorry).

Colin,
Ugh, you're preaching to the choir! I've just been stunned all offseason. And about Soriano...I wrote an article on that same subject almost a year ago. Sometimes I have to go to Wrigley just to remind myself why I root for this team.
