I grew up in the great State of Alabama. In my humble opinion, there is no finer place to live. Due to my job, I was gone from home for nearly 20 years. While the life experience is irreplaceable, I truly did miss home. But thankfully I am back now. I hope for good.
I was born an Auburn fan. Most of my family, however, were Bama fans. Because one of my cousins attended the University in Tuscaloosa, I went there for my freshman year in 1984. Thankfully, I eventually got to go where my heart truly was and graduate nearly three years later. Needless to say, I bleed orange and blue. I am an alumni and have the degree on the wall to prove it!
I believe in good honest competition. It is part of the pagentry of sports. And if I have any hang-up its that I can't stand folks who are "fans" for the moment or the ones that are stuck in the past. Lately, there seems to be more and more of these type of people on this site and others that tend to surface claiming spiritual dominance of some sort or another because of the actions of their team or their coach. I actually feel sorry for these people because without their school (which most NEVER attended in the first place) these people would be the equivalants of social gnats.
During Bowl Season, after the season is complete, I am always for the SEC team, regardless which team is playing. I think that is the sign of being a good sport. Again, it is amazing how many folks in this State won't make similar claims should one team or the other get to the bowl game.
Admittedly, while I love football, I don't know everything there is about it. I will quickly point out that while I have an opinion, it may be flawed. I only ask that you listen and point out my weaknesses so I continue to educate myself about the sport I love. Some of you may need to adopt this method of humility because being a jerk is no way to go through life. Being a jerk supercedes any sense of fandom, there is simply no excuse for it.
While this web page is for the junior analyst, I believe that articles should be un-biased if they are trying to present facts. Sadly, some are nowhere close to being professional. But nevertheless, there are some good sources of information passed along here. And I am always opened to learning new things.
However, if you happen to be a social gnat, please understand that I feel it is my role to put you in your place. America has enough nuts in it so realize your lame attempt to "flame" simply encourages me to engage in more debate. Wanna be biased? Go somewhere else.
