Going Out in Style at Yankee Stadium
03/07/2009
I'm a 28 year old aspiring sports writer. One day I will be a great sports columnist.
My background consists of watching many sporting events since 1990. I have a very analytical approach to whatever sport I am watching.
I try to keep things light when it comes to my love of sports. I'm very objective when it comes to talking about whatever topic in which I have some knowledge on. . My trash talking is me arguing logically, with humor sometimes.
You will see that my sports teams are scattered about the country. My allegiance to teams like Duke basketball, Michigan football, and the Chicago Bulls spurned from them being the teams that I first watched when I was a kid. Others like the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Penguins are second loves as I became very dissatisfied with the Oakland A's and Chicago Black hawks after they dumped their chances of winning by unloading their talent in the early nineties. My Team's current championship droughts are as follows:
Buffalo Bills-(1965) 43 years
Atlanta Braves-(1995) 14 years
Michigan Wolverines Football-(1997) 12 years
Chicago Bulls-(1998) 11 years
New York Yankees-(1999) 10 years
Duke Basketball- (2001) 8 years
I feel like I'm a Red sox fan, waiting for the Bills to finally win a title, only they never tasted an NFL championship.
I'm as happy as anyone that the Pittsburgh Penguins won the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs! Congratulations to all the players, management, and every Penguin fan. GO PENS!
I love being on this site as it's so stimulating and a good amount of the articles here are thought provoking.
If you feel the need to debate any topic with me in more detail, I'm at Cwhales233340@aol.com.
Amen to that, brother.
The tears flowing out of Detroit the past two weeks will eventually form another Great Lake.

Christopher,
As always, thanks for such a healthy perspective—I really appreciate such kind and sage words.
A considerable part of what makes B/R such an enjoyable place.

Hey Christopher,
Apologies for all the blast posts, which I'm sure got a little annoying. Hence, I'm putting an end to that practice and trying to keep future posts more reader-specific. To that end, you seem like an NBA guy so maybe you'll like this one:

We have seen a ton of lists, rankings, etc. all over B/R. I finally tried one of my own, but I tried to tackle this particular list from a different angle than the norm. My list is of the 10 Most Valuable Offensive Players in the NFL.
These players aren't necessarily the best in the league, or even the best at their positions, but rather the 10 players that mean the most to their particular team's SB chances.
Would love your input if you have a chance. If not, no worries. Thanks!

With the Phillies' quest to defend their world championship starting tomorrow night, I was inspired to compose the ultimate top 20 list--my 20 greatest moments as a Philadelphia sports fan.

You haven't written an article on here for a while man what with that?? haha. I would love if you read and gave me some feedback on my newest article
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/147547-learning-from-mistakes-10-players-who-must-make-adjustments-in-2009?just_published=1
The article talks about players that must make adjustments in 2009. I talked a bit about Jeter so that should interest you as well.
Thanks

Was Bart Starr underrated or overrated? I love to hear what you think.

NFL runningback Ryan Moats was pulled over last week on the way to the hospital to say goodbye to his dieing mother-in-law. He was detained and harassed by the officer for almost 15 minutes, and in that time his mother-in-law passed away. He was not able to get to her in time to say goodbye.
I was heartbroken when I heard this story, but enraged when I actually saw a 17 minute video of the entire incident. I have never seen such an abuse of power in my life.
Because of the nature of this subject, this article was pretty important to me. I would love if you could check it out when you get a chance. If not, no problem. Thanks!

Some of the best players in NFL history have been completely forgotten simply because they played football two or three generations ago. Unlike baseball, football is all about the present day. Fans are raised to believe that the greatest players are all from their time period, so it's puzzling to me when I hear Jerry Rice unanimously declared the greatest wide receiver in history...because....well, he wasn't.

I'm not so sure that there is enough sports content to truly classify this as a sports article, but here is my latest work. It was fun to write so I hope its fun to read.
I am doing some "Spring Cleaning" by airing a few gripes I have about my Dallas Cowboys.
If you have a chance and want to, check it out. If not, absolutely no worries. Thanks!
