I am 51 years old and an avid golfer to say the least. While golf is by far my favorite sport at this point in my life, that wasn't always the case. I played all sports in high school and baseball in college. Was a decent enough pitcher to be fairly heavily scouted until injuries derailed that dream. Took up golf at the age of 20 when stationed in North Carolina circa 1980. Suffice to say that after making birdie on the 14th hole, it was all over. Within 2 years had progressed to single digit handicap. Broke 70 less than a year after that. Played as often as economically possible for many years. Due to several back and neck sugeries, a completely re-built right shoulder and other factors, my playing time is not what it was. Despite that, my love for the game is stronger than ever. I look forward to sharing comments and observations with other b/r fans about the game I follow so closely
