I am indeed British, and haven't yet attended an American tennis event. So don't think I can help you on this one....
I'm hoping to make my first trip to the Open this year, however, so if you need another angle (or something after the event), let me know.

I know what you mean about past editors cringing somewhere... I write for a newspaper and of course we use AP style in everything... Every now and then I almost fix my stuff for the paper by B/R guidelines and have to catch myself!

Melissa,

You hit one of my pet peeves with the way they do it here on B/R... According to AP style you would say Week 3 — same as in NASCAR we would say Turn 3... BUT the 'suits' here at B/R will change it every time to say Week Three or Turn Three — it aggravates the day-lights out of me, because the numeral is perfectly acceptable there, but B/R things ANY number under 10 should be spelled out... But hey, it's their site, I'm just an intern! ha

The syndicated writer thing is a new thing they just started recently. Basically, if you receive that tag (which I'm confident you will) it means your stories are automatically sent out to the third parties B/R deals with, such as Google News, Foxsports and CBS Sports to possibly be picked up by them.

I think it takes a few days for it to appear on your profile, but like I said, I have no doubt you will receive it. They review it on an article-by-article basis and you just wrote your first article yesterday, so it probably hasn't shown up yet.
