Trading Ted Lilly Could Get Chicago Cubs Back on Track
08/22/2009
My name is Pat De Marco, and I am a huge sports fan. My favorite sports are baseball, football, and basketball. Baseball is clearly my favorite sport. Growing up in Chicago, I have always been a huge Cubs fan. I love watching and analyzing Chicago Cubs baseball. I'm also a huge Chicago Bears fan. It's not to difficult to find me on Sunday. You will find me watching the NFL.
I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Communications. I love following SIU basketball. I hope you enjoy my articles. I'm going to try and mix things up a little writing about baseball, football, basketball, and sometimes a few random articles.
Prior to working in the Transportation/Logistics industry, I spent a few years working in the Radio and TV industry. I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to cover numerous sporting events and teams. I covered the 2001 Chicago Cubs, and Chicago White Sox. I've also covered the Western Open Golf Tournament, and numerous high school, and college sporting events.
While attending Southern Illinois University, I worked at a local NPR station and PBS station covering soft news, hard news, Illinois politics, and local sports.
Please feel free to email me at patdemarco17@yahoo.com. I look forward to your feedback.
Taking a hiatus from writing, Pat? Or just fed up with our Cubs?
Let me know what you think.

I haven't pimped an article in awhile, but the silence is deafening, so here I go again.
I think that the Strasburg negotiations warrant a look at something that MLB should have adopted a long time ago. I'd like to know if you agree.

Hey, Pat, hopefully yesterday was just a bump in the road for our Cubbies. They have been playing well since the break, haven't they? I hope they keep it up!
Well, here I go again. I'm now taking on a subject that is not commonly discussed among men in sports, namely gay bashing. Similar to my article on racism, I'm sure this will generate some debate, so feel free to join in the fray.

In the offseason, the O's signed star right fielder Nick Markakis to a six-year, $66.1M extension. Has he lived up? It's safe to say he has! Check it out.

My latest article is about the evolution of a quiet kid from Spokane to a man on a mission in the Cubs minor league system. I hope you enjoy reading it as much I did writing it.

This is a piece that I'm really quite happy with. A lot of people know a lot about the Chicago Cubs, sometimes the early history does not game as much publicity as it perhaps should. In the first of a four part series, i take a look at the very early stages of Chicago Cubs history, from it's establishment in 1870. Would greatly appreciate feedback on this particular piece of work:

Hey,
After the great success of my first article about the uniform numbers 1-10, I have come back with the next installment, with the best players to wear the uniform numbers 11-20. I hope you can take a look and even comment on my choices. Thanks in advance!
