About

Until someone wins seven, the Steelers are tops...

Bryan is taking some time off to complete some projects that are long overdue; finish his college degree, complete a few home improvement projects on the honey-do list, and spend some time with his family instead of being plugged in all the time. He will probably still contribute during the football season, so stay tuned for witty insight, spot-on analysis, and enough biased homerism to irritate even the most casual reader.

And he really isn't surprised that you're irritated; he probably did it on purpose.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Jerome Bettis; Rocky Bleier; Charles Barkley; Ben Roethlisberger; the late Dale Earnhardt; Junior; Mark Martin

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans (Nashville native; it's in the by-laws), Atlanta Braves, Nashville Predators, Vanderbilt Commodores

  • Favorite Coaches

Bill Cowher, Chuck Noll, any coach who plays against Steve Spurrier, and my Little League baseball coach, Coach Smith

  • All-Time Sports Moment

Earnhardt's last-lap "pass" of Labonte at Bristol in '99; classic Earnhardt, and I was one of only 3 people cheering.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Personal: All-State Tournament team, age 12, starting center fielder. Took the series to the last game, lost it on a shortstop error, but man was it cool!! Professionally, first home game of the Tennessee titans (then the Oilers) in Nashville at Vanderbilt Stadium. I was just off of active duty, was my first Pro football game attended.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Brett Favre's all-time yardage. No one else will ever match that. EVER.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth; inspiration for overweight, hard-drinking sports fans everywhere.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana; the "father" of the West Coast Offense

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Jordan; surrounded by lesser talents.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    Gretzky; little guy, big player.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Pele; who the hell is Maradona (too close to Prima Dona)?

  • Federer or Sampras?

Sampras's trainer; who knew a gorilla could be trained to play tennis?

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Nicklaus; played with "inferior" equipment against Palmer, Sneed, et al.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Earnhardt; Petty cheated when cheating wasn't against the rules...

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

SEC, without question. ANY GIVEN SATURDAY.

Hey Bryan. I know you don't know me, but since you're one of the top NFL writers, I would really appreciate if you read this article and gave me some feedback on it if you get the chance. Anything you can tell me is helpful.

    Hey,

It's a tiny bit late as it took longer than expected to write it, but my review of 2009 is finally here! Last year's one won the AOTD award and hopefully I've done enough on this one to equal that feat, but I'll leave you to be the judge of that!

With 25 great moments from 12 different sports, and with everyone from Barcelona to France, the Yankees to the Lakers, and Usain Bolt to Tiger Woods there is something for everyone in this slideshow, plus a ranked top ten as the final slide!

If you get a chance would you mind checking it out? Cheers!
