Favorite Sports Teams

Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Texas Longhorns (all sports)

All Time Sports Moment

Tony Scheffler's Superman dive for a touchdown against the Houston Texans in a Thursday night game. It kept me in one of my fantasy playoffs in 2007, so I gotta love it for now.

Most Memorable Game Attended

Kenny Rogers throwing a no-hitter with the Texas Rangers while my dad and I sat outside the ballpark for the first 5 innings because we lost our tickets or Vince Young saving the game against Oklahoma State for Texas

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Miami Dolphin's perfect season...or so it seems

Ruth or Mays?

Ruth -- He has a candy bar. Candy bars always win.

Unitas or Montana?

Unitas -- Even though he's not a state

Jordan or Russell?

Jordan -- We are talking who has the longest tongue, right?

Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky -- Nice teeth and a hockey player. Amazing. By the way, this question makes it sound like you are stuttering.

Pele or Maradona?

Pele -- Mostly because he can't be confused with Madonna

Federer or Sampras?

Federer -- He's got hair.

Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger -- He only needs one leg. Now can we talk football?

Petty or Earnhardt?

Earnhardt -- Anyone else is just petty.

Schumacher or Senna?

Seriously, where did the football go?

Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big 12. Always Big 12.

  1. Next week is the halfway point of the Fantasy Season. Let's hand out some awards! Categories are: MVP, LVP, Waiver Wire Hero, Most Overrated, Most Likely to Drop Off, Most Likely to Comback Strong, and then one thing you wish you knew on your draft day. Send nominations and reasons to elmhurstpubroundtable@yahoo.com or post them to the Roundtable bulletin board.

  2. Jacob, posting direct works. I just wanted to get a few ideas flowing there, similar to what you see with the way the other pages are able to highlight on teams and series or what not.

Actually had one to throw out to you. Any thoughts on doing a mid-season awards for fantasy football? Next week you see most leagues hit the half way point (depending on playoff scenarios and weeks used for playoffs). I was thinking an MVP, LVP, Bust, Surprise, Waiver Hero, whatever the case may be.

  3. Hey Jacob,

I just put out two more fantasy football pieces that you might like.
I'd love to know your thoughts.

  5. I came up with another approach to Waiver Wire suggestions. They're basically one-week suggestions with potential to be more long term, but check it out and let me know what you think:

    Thanks,

  6. No, thank you... for being my first fan AND first comment. Your spot is forever reserved :)

But as far as the dud-stud pick goes, yeah, I'm definitely interested in that. Thanks for thinking of me. Now I called Steven Jackson to come out in Week 4, and Randy Moss in Week 5, and they did. Do you want me to dig deeper and find another one for later on this year? Or elaborate on one of the aforementioned guys?

Also, by when would you like my pick?

  7. I am very interested! Count me in. When you want my picks?

  8. Hey Jacob,

I sent you my dud-who'll-be-turned-stud. Will this be made into an article, or what? Just curious.

  9. It got to the top because your guys' contributions became too significant too ignore—so you keep up the great work, so Fantasy can stay in the nav bar!

    Thanks so much Jacob,
    Z

  10. Jacob, read my mind bud.

I posted one myself as a question to the group as a whole about which sports are the easiest and most difficult to draft. If you're up for that one, check out the fantasy home page for that info as well!

  11. Hey Jacob,

Thanks for reading and commenting. Here's my latest Fantasy piece- got my fingers crossed for Sportsline...

    Thanks.

    Buddy.

  14. It's hard to keep up with everything going on with the Buckeyes, but I've done my best to wrap it up. Check it out!
