The unconventional perspective.

That's the common thread in nearly all my writings.

I don't write what everyone else is thinking. After all, what's the point of writing something that everyone already knows? I shouldn't waste my time writing that, and you shouldn't waste your time reading that.

But a fresh angle on things. Ah, now that's worth writing—and reading.

At times I'll be positive. Other times I'll be negative. There's a place for each. But I'll never write things just for the sake of stirring up controversy. That would be shallow.

Sometimes you may not agree with my unique take on sports. And that's okay. Sometimes we'll just have to agree to disagree.

But it'll sure be a more challenging read than reading about stuff you already agree with.

    Michael Jordan, Joe Montana, Jay Johnstone (yeah, I know: who's that?), Andre Dawson, Greg Maddux, Jim McMahon, Jeremy Lin.

    Cubs, Bears, the Jordan-led Bulls, all the youth baseball teams I've coached.

  • All-Time Sports Moment

    The Bears destruction of New England in Super Bowl XX.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

    Jordan vs Ewing, James Starks and the other Knicks thugs in an NBA Playoff game at the old Chicago Stadium. Don't remember what year or which game. But I do remember the Stadium was so electric, it seemed like 100,000 people were in the building.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

    18 consecutive defensive shutout innings (including four in the playoffs) by a 7-to-8-year-old NON-TRAVEL youth baseball team. Yes, good coaching and a good system can overcome a lack of elite talent.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    I guess Ruth. He could pitch too.

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Duh. Montana.

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Duh. Jordan. And I'll take this opportunity to say LeBron is a loser.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    Don't follow hockey.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Sorry...soccer is way too boring for me. Even the highlights don't excite me.

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Federer isn't even dominant anymore. So I guess it's all Greek to me :)

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Can't support a multi-cheatin' husband. Just can't do it. Rooting for Tiger to never win again.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

    Not into car racing.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

    Either can drive a car around a fire hydrant better than Tiger.
