The Shortlist »

  • Favorite Athletes

    Hank Aaron, Chipper Jones

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Jersey Devils, Penn State Nittany Lions, Wake Forest Demon Deacons

  • All Time Sports Moment

Cards WS win in '06. I was in St. Louis when they won, unforgettable. The town was literally painted red, you could feel it in the air. Unbelievable. Best time ever, made me a Cardinals fan.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Yankees/Braves game, June 2006. 12 innings, Giles homered in top to put Braves up, A-Rod answered with a 3 run bomb in the bottom to end the game in walk-off fashion. Now keep in mind I'm a Braves fan, but this game was amazing, I can't be mad the Bravos lost, I'm more a fan of the game than any one team, so a good game makes me happy in any way.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Henry Louis Aaron's Homerun Record of 755. What do you mean someone broke it? No they didn't. It's still the Hammer's, until A-Rod breaks it someday.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth. Hands down. Mays is perhaps the best all-around player but no one could do what the Bambino did. He revolutionized the game and played the game in a way no one else did at his time. Also, don't forget he pitched for 10 seasons which takes away from his possible home runs, maybe he'd still be the home run champ today if he had always played the field.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana. No question. Look at the numbers.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Couldn't care less.

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big Ten baby, PSU's my team, and the conference is stacked every year.

As everyone else is, I am applying for the CBSSport job for the Steelers. I wrote an article about how I grew up a Steeler fan.
If you could, take a look and feel free to comment if you would like.

Thanks,
Nick

sorry, i thought it was appropriate to label legends, hall of famers, and guys who turn organizations around as dead weight....what i really meant was they make less money then most shitty pitchers....oh wait that doesnt really help my argument....oh well ill leave it and hope you dont question me

Scott,

Looks like one of our other editors beat me to the Jones piece--it's very solid as-is. I changed "mid-season" and "off-season" to "midseason" and "offseason"...and tweaked the teaser...but otherwise left it untouched. Keep up the good work, and I'll look forward to being in touch about editing.

Best,

RA

Scotty,

The comment was put there because it was good work. And I knew exactly where your lead came from, it had to be the one and only Marty....He was jazzed up about the article and it worked out, so why not tribute the idea right.
