Matt's Bio
Matt is a different blend of sportswriter. He grew up in Boston, and of course bleeds Boston sports. He then did his undergraduate studies in enemy territory, at Fordham University in New York.
He's now a full blown New Yawkaaaah, although he only drops his R's when he's trying to tick people off or be funny.
Since he takes a daily dose of New York sports propaganda, his point of view is uniquely shaped. That odd contrast of natures enables him to approach the archaic journalistic concept of objectivity.
He has spent his three postgraduate years living in Brooklyn. He began as a stringer for CollegeSports.com, which is a branch of CBSSports.com. Currently he is a fantasy reporter for MLB.com.
His passion, however, still lies in chronicling the triumphs and tribulations of Boston teams. Obviously when a Beantown squad goes down, he never hears the end of it. In that light, feel free to email him with whatever sentiments you may have.

All Time Sports Moment
Games 4-7. 2004 ALCS. A moment that lasted four days and 44 innings.
Most Memorable Game Attended
Mo Vaughn's walkoff grand slam on Opening Day 1998. Red Sox were down 7-2 entering the 9th and scored seven runs without an out, culminating in the Hit Dog's slam. As icing on the cake, they started the rally against ex-Sox bombshell closer, Heathcliff Slocumb (who happened to have been traded for Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek the year before). Karmic afternoon at Fenway.
Most Unbreakable Sports Record
Individual: Cy Young's 511 wins and 749 complete games. Team: Celtics eight consecutive NBA titles.
Ruth or Mays?
Ruth. Greatest baseball player in the history of the game. Don't forget he was a pitcher first.
Unitas or Montana?
Montana. He has four rings and is the reason I love football.
Pele or Maradona?
Maradona. Out of this world. And beyond.
Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?
SEC football, no contest. In basketball, over the last ten years the Big East and ACC have been neck and neck. Slight edge to the overall depth of the Big East.
