About

Hey. I'm Curt Hogg, a huge sports nut and going to be a junior in high school. I have recently been named a Featured Columnist for the Milwaukee Brewers, dishing out pieces giving B/R my thoughts on the True Blue Brew Crew.

I write about sports because I love putting my passion for them into words for others to read. I am also next year's editor of my high school's newspaper, The Talon. I write and publish a newspaper that I distribute at school, The Cheesehead.

I have my own baseball website www.letstalkbrewers.com. On it I post all of my Brewers and baseball-related articles. I am a VIP Columinst on the site.

I have had one article featured on USA Today, which is a big accomplishment.http://content.usatoday.com/topics/article/Organizations/Sports+Leagues/NBA/Toronto+Raptors/08Tg2j41gs4I6/1. Aside from USA Today, I have had articles featured on...
-ballhype.com
-freeagentwriter.com
-mlb.sportsnewsandscores.com
-faniq.com
-many others

My biggest accomplishment may have been having an article featured on ESPN's Sports Nation for (what else) a B/R article!

I won the Iris Luell Memorial Award, which is given out to the top achiever in Language Arts in the grade, at our eighth grade promotion ceremony. I wouldn't want the award in any other subject.
I won $150 in an essay contest in February and received a nice plaque that is on my wall, and took home $45 in an essay contest last year.

I lived in Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Peru for a combined six years and can speak Spanish very well.

I am a die-hard Brewers fan and hope they can make the Playoffs again. I was at the game in 2008 when Ryan Braun hit a walk-off grand salami.

The Packers are my favorite football team by a slim margin and I also love the Jets (no bandwagon jumping here, I've liked them since I was four)

Staying true to my hometown, my favorite NBA team is the Milwaukee Bucks. FEAR THE DEER!

I will watch almost any type of sporting event, including poker.

My most popular article to date is a satirical piece saying that Chris Bosh signed with a Euro team. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/398362-chris-bosh-leaves-toronto-signs-with-olympiakos-of-greece

If it is of any interest, I can run a mile under 5:00. And a 5k pretty darn fast as well. In other words, I'm a tall, skinny white boy.

My e-mail address is bdchogg13@yahoo.com. Feel free to e-mail me anything.
Well, that's pretty much it.
Hope you enjoy my articles.

Hey, Curt! I finished the second of my double play combination rankings. It's a bit shorter, but I heard some complaints from relatives about the length last time. So, check it out when you get time! I guarantee you'll see some former Brewers on this one.

Great article on the helmets, Curt. As a designer, I've always been intrigued by the design of the helmets and the uniforms.

I've been reading your work on the CWS, and I must say it's been great. If you have the spare time, would you check out my latest article? It's on the majors, but baseball is baseball.

The Yankees have put together an unbelievable streak of magical wins, but is Yankee Stadium and its short right field porch New York’s “magic wand?” Can sitting back and waiting for a solo HR really translate to October success?

Thanks in advance! I would love to hear your feedback and comments. Take care.

The new Yankee Stadium had been criticized for its lack of intensity and electricity in the early months of the season, but this weekend’s series against the Red Sox finally make a familiar place seem like HOME.

Thanks in advance, and I would look to hear your opinions and feedback. Take care.

Yankee fans rooting for the Red Sox? Has hell frozen over, or is there a rational thought process at the root of it all. Read why it is ok for you to root for Boston on select occasions without feeling like Benedict Arnold.

There has always been a connection between religion and sports, and Major League Baseball has certainly not been the exception to the rule.

Check out the All-Catholic lineup…the best Catholic names (by position) in MLB history.

A-Rod’s 2009 salary is $33 million. What is the best team (9 hitter lineup with DH, 5 SPs, 1 RP, and a CL) you could create using only his salary as a budget, and no more than 5 players allowed to be making less than $1 million? You would be surprised…
