Andrew Pillow was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May, 23rd 1989. He attended the J. Graham Brown School from 1st through 12th grade, where he was varsity lettermen in basketball.
Both his mother and father worked in the news for a time. His father currently being an assignment editor for the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, fueling his aspirations to become a sports writer.
After graduation he went on to attend the University of Kentucky, where he majored in Political Science and Journalism. While there he wrote for the Kentucky Kernel student daily. He also produced, anchored and reported for newscasts on the student television newscast. He graduated in 2011.
Pillow is now a 2011corps member in Teach for America in the Indianapolis cohort. He teaches 5th and 6th grade Social Studies at KIPP Indy.
He is lifelong fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, and credits growing up a Kentucky fan in the city of Louisville for stirring his passion for sports debate and opinion.
Pillow has an extensive collection of basketball sneakers. He also enjoys pick up basketball when he has the time.
